Figures out if input is string, integer, buffer, bits and converts them.

bitwise.convert([0,0,1,0,1,0,1,0], 'byte') === 42
bitwise.convert(Buffer<42>, 'byte') === 42

Currently, bitwise.(buffer|byte).(read|write) use inconsistent naming. It should be converted to bitwise.(integer|bits).to(Buffer|Byte) etc..

I am wondering if this library can help. pretty unsure of how to proceed.

new Buffer(size) is deprecated. It should be replaced with Buffer.alloc(size).

Some JSDoc @param declarations use invalid syntax.

while upgrading packages in my utility library it throws error for missing .toBits function.

I had used to be happy with bitwise but this code doesn't work anymore.

let binFlags = bitwise.byte.read(17)

console.log(binFlags)

let binFlags = bitwise.byte.read(17)
                           ^

TypeError: Cannot read property 'read' of undefined

I've used to use readByte from version < 1.0.0 but this function disappeared.

Can you please implement bit shift operations like logical shift, arithmetic shift and cyclic shift ?
