DySMHO requires only a standard computer with enough RAM to support the in-memory operations. The code has been tested on the following systems:
- macOS Big Sur (version 11.6)
- Windows 10 Enterprise (version 1909)
Download the DySMHO repository and ensure all dependencies and requirements above are met.
git clone https://github.com/Baldea-Group/DySMHO
Installation time should be under 10 seconds with a standard internet conection. Total file size is 22.1 MB.
Detailed demonstrations for different dynamical systems are included in the DySMHO/notebook directory. The examples include the following equations Lotka-Volterra, van der Pol, Brusselator, and Lorenz. The notebooks demonstrate and explain in detail the following steps:
- Data generation for dynamical systems examples
- DySMHO instance definition
- Application of DySMHO methods (smoothing, pre-processing, discovery, and validation)
- Expected outputs
The expected run times (in seconds) for selected numerical examples on a satndard computer are given below:
System | Data generation (s) | Disovery (s) |
---|---|---|
Lotka-Volterra | 0.029 | 268.77 |
van der Pol | 0.042 | 170.69 |
Brusselator | 0.040 | 249.62 |
Lorenz | 0.042 | 368.00 |
All the data generating scrips for the numerical case studies can be found in the data directory. A plotting script used to display results can be found here. All utilities and helper functions used in the main model, as well as the definition of the model class for 2D and 3D systems can be found in the model directory.
The directory also includes scripts used to compare the perfromance of DySMHO against prior works in the literature, mainly different versions of PySINDy.
