Release is broken

Leaving this as a reminder to myself; release is missing the new ROM data files. I need to fix the build script and make a new release.

Also, it might be useful to swap to an actual makefile and use make for building the script.

Jan 31 2017 build - hiding original hud doesn't work

In the build that I compiled here, it shows that features like "hide original hud" don't work anymore, even on the original roms. I have confirmed that this feature works as intended on the stable Mar 12, 2015 build.

readme.txt and license.txt use UNIX line endings

The script is supposed to be used in Windows environment, but the line endings 
in those files are in UNIX style. This may confuse unexperienced users when 
they open those files in Notepad.
