kubernetes-handbook-projects's Introduction

Bonjour, mon ami! wave

Hi, I am Farhan Hasin Chowdhury, a software developer from Bangladesh with a knack for learning new things and writing about them. I make open-source software and write free full-length handbooks to help out developers in their journey.

kubernetes-handbook-projects's Issues

ingress file outdated

Is it possible to update the yaml file for the Ingress?
it is quite outdated, and as such I could not complete the tutorial

  1. The annotation kubernetes.io/ingress.class: nginx is now replaced with spec.ingressClassName: nginx
  2. Using regex for paths now requires the annotation nginx.ingress.kubernetes.io/use-regex: "true", and using a different path type: ImplementationSpecific
  3. I suspect the rewrite target should be changed to $2 but not sure

After applying these, I could get the backend to respond, but the frontend didn't. getting error "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<". Not sure why is that, maybe the server sending incorrect response to browser.
When applying rewrite rule "/" it was the opposite - frontend worked but backend didn't. Not sure if this is related to above issue or just me missing something.

fhsinchy/hello-kube not working on Raspberry Pi

When trying to run the image on a Raspberry Pi 4 I get the error:

$ k get pod
hello-kube                         0/1     CrashLoopBackOff   1          16s

$ k logs hello-kube
standard_init_linux.go:219: exec user process caused: exec format error

It looks like the docker image is only available for linux/amd64 architecture.

Can you please provide an ARM build? Should be pretty straight forward with buildx

$ docker buildx build --platform linux/arm/v7 -t fhsinchy/hello-kube --push

Thanks !
