== What steps will reproduce the problem? ==
For me, the following two lines do not work:
vgraph.unlinkNodes(selectedNode.inEdges[0].node1.vnode, selectedNode.vnode);
vgraph.linkNodes(vgraph.currentRootVNode, selectedNode.vnode);
ActionScript throws an error, which I have included at the bottom of the bug
report. I have reproduced this in multiple projects, and have included a
modified demo project to reproduce this behavior.
1. Select a node other than the root node by using the keyboard
2. Click the "Change Parent" button at the bottom. An error should occur.
== What is the expected output? What do you see instead? ==
I would expect that a new edge would be created (and rendered, given a
vgraph.draw() call) linking the root node to the selected node.
== What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? ==
I am using revision 1828 of Ravis in Flex 3.5.
== Please provide any additional information below. ==
It appears the data for the newly created Edge is never set before the edge is
rendered. I have included the full stack trace below:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Use the attached project in the Zip file.
Adding a node renderer whose labelCoordinates method puts the label in the same
location draws labels underneath the rendered nodes.
In My attached example project I set the itemRenderer to MyNodeRenderer.
MyNodeRenderer simple makes sure that the labelCoordinates method draws the
label on the same xy as the node itself.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Labels on top of nodes
Actual: Labels covered by nodes
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Subversion version 1828
Please provide any additional information below.
I am able to fix this by extending EnhancedVisualGraph overriding
createVNodeComponent and reordering the children in the nodeLayer so that the
node renderers are added first and the labels are added after. This forces the
labels to be drawn on top of the nodes.
I am willing to accept that my implementation is wrong and would welcome a
suggestion of a different way to implement it. I considered not using a label
renderer and just making the label part of the node. Seems like this might
also fix the issue.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
As radarcharts aren't available in the compiled swc ( they are in the source ),
i tried to compile the entire library up into a new swc.
However, while trying to do this i saw that some of the degrafa classes where
missing.
So after doing some research i realized that you are providing an old version
of degrafa ( 3.1 ), there newer version ( 3.2 ) however does have these
classes.
One of these classes is RadarTextPlus ( geometry package )
Quick Fix :
Download the 3.2 swc file from the degrafa googlecode page. Delete the degrafa
3.1 swc and compile everything up with the new 3.2 swc :)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use showDataTips with a MicroBarChart with a large enough width to
see where the tooltip location appears.
<microcharts:MicroBarChart width="200" spacing="3" showDataTips="true"
height="40" dataProvider="[200, 80, 30, 10]"/>
2. The attached MicroBarChart_tooltip_prefix.gif image shows that the
tooltip appears in the lower corner, instead of centered vertically like
the other microcharts.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting to see a vertically centered tooltip location.
In the createBars() code, the startY value is incremented after it is used
for positioning the column, but before the tooltip location is specified.
startY += columnWidth + spacing;
A fix is either to move the startY change to below the
if (showDataTips)
block, or to change the positioning of the createToolTip to subtract the
spacing value:
geomGroup.createToolTip(data.getItemAt(i), _dataField, space+startX +
posX, space - spacing + startY - columnWidth/2, 3);
The attached MicoBarChart_tooltip_postFix.gif file shows the vertically
centered tooltip after the fix is applied.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a MicroPlotChart using a colors array
<microcharts:MicroPlotChart width="200" height="40" showDataTips="true"
dataField="val" backgroundColor="#DDDDDD" backgroundStroke="#888888"
colors="[0xFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFF, 0, 0xFF0000, 0]" dataProvider="{dp}"
negative="false" radius="10" />
2. Note that all of the circles show up with black fills, instead of 2
white, 1 red, 2 black.
Analysis:
In createPlots() in MicroPlotChart.as, the line for using the colors array
is correctly being called, based on the flex debugger:
if (colors != null) {
plot.fill = new SolidFill(useColor(i));
}
The Degrapha asdocs for SolidFill say that the first arg should be an
Object specifying a color value (unit or string).
However, the useColor() method in BaseMicroChart.as is returning a
IGraphicsFill object, not a color value:
protected function useColor(indexIteration:Number):IGraphicsFill
The Degrapha code is just treating an unknown type of object input as
black, so everything shows up that way.
Fix: Use the fill returned from useColor() instead of creating a SolidFill.
if (colors != null) {
plot.fill = useColor(i);
//plot.fill = new SolidFill(useColor(i));
}
The attached image shows that the different colors now appear.

I am using the MicroLineChart in a custom item renderer in a Datagrid. I
have around 100 rows in the Datagrid. Each MicroLineChart consists of
approx. 40 datapoints.
Now it takes around 2 sec to render this datagrid, and approx. 5 if I also

Is there a way to speed up the rendering or a recommended way how to use

Later I might have hundreds of datapoints, and this will take very long to

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a Flox container (HBox in a DataGrid for example), and set the
width to be a value that will be decreased by the Box when it does its
measurement, or just add other children so that the % width of the
MicroChart is more than the width the chart will be allocated.
<mx:HBox xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"...
<mx:Label width="30" text="{averageRequestsPerDay}" textAlign="right" />
<microcharts:MicroLineChart width="100%" color="#666666"
backgroundColor="#CCCCCC" height="20"
dataProvider="[3,7, 8, 0, 0, 4, 5]"
negative="false" showDataTips="true" />
</HBox>
2. When the chart is rendered, data points are lost.
The attached image, BasicMicroChart_percentWidthIssue.gif shows that only
the first 4 points are rendered or a 8 data point dataProvider.
3. The issue seems to be the measure() method in BasicMicroChart which is
basically assuming that the percentage value is accurate and has not been
reduced by the parent's measurement algorithms.
tempWidth = Math.max(0, percentWidth/100 * (parent.width - edgeMet.left -
edgeMet.right));
4. The issue does not appear if the width corresponding to the
percentWidth assigned to the Chart is not reduced by the parent's
measurement algorithm.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect to see all of the data points rendered, allowing the parent's
measurement to flow down to the children instead of having the MicroChart
child try to do it itself.
Possible fix:
Just have the percentWidth() method work like UIComponent - if
percentWidth is changed, then invalidate the parent size, and have it set
the width on the child, etc.
override public function set percentWidth(val:Number):void
{
_percentWidth = val;
var p:IInvalidating = parent as IInvalidating;
if (p) {
p.invalidateSize();
p.invalidateDisplayList();
}
}
Then in the measure() method in BasicMicroChart.as, the percentWidth
calculations can be removed.
The BasicMicroChart_possibleFix.gif image shows the result - all of the
data points are rendered.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Please provide any additional information below.
A BasicMicroChart.as used for the fix with the percentWidth changes and
measure() commented lines is attached.
percentHeight could be similarly changed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Library built and/or released with svn revision 1822.
I have attached a patch that makes the labels render, but this does not seem to
be the proper solution. I am fairly new to flex and am not 100% sure what the
correct solution would be. I can think of plenty of incorrect solutions :-P
Line 329-331 of EnhancedVisualGraph is as follows
if((_nodeLabelRendererFactory != null) &&
(vn is IEnhancedVisualNode) &&
(_edgeRendererFactory is IControllableEdgeRenderer)) {
To the best of my knowledge _edgeRendererFactory is of type IFactory and will
never be a IControllableEdgeRenderer.
Removing this check makes the labels render, but I am assuming this validation
was added for a legitimate reason. An instance could be created from the
factory and that could be checked against IControllableEdgeRenderer but that
seems to not be the correct solution.
Anyway, I attached a patch with that line removed. Applying it will make the
labels render but removes the validation.
