On this page: http://www.teavivre.com/info/brew-an-enjoyable-pu-erh-tea/ the string "212 ℉" is not annotated. I suspect because it uses the ℉ character, which you can type as "\u2109".
No changes are visible. Works on other websites
On this recipe:
https://persianmama.com/kabob-koobideh-grilled-minced-meat-kabobs/
The converted output reads:
1 ½ pounds [700 g] ground beef (80-85% lean)
1 pound [450 g] ground lamb (80-85% lean)
That is obviously wrong. If 1 lb is 450g then 1.5 lbs is 675g, not 700.
I love this plugin, but I just ran into a situation, that's very typical for me. Most recipes are for 4 servings and I ever only cook for two.
So, I would love it, if in some cases I could turn on like halving (or sometimes 1/3, 1/4) option, which would also automatically calculate the correct amounts for me.
I realize that this isn't strictly what the plugin was meant to do, but it would go so nicely hand-in-hand with this that I thought I'd suggest it.
Cheers!
Temperatures get converted but ingredients do not.
Can you please add an option to hide the original units?
Maybe show the original units in a tooltip when hovering over the replacement.
It gets noisy, and I don't want to see those american units that make no sense to me.
Tbs. and tsp. and such are fine.
Spices like cinnamon, paprika, and minced rosemary should be in [g] not [ml]

Great extension !!!!!!!!!! Infinitely better than"Cooking Converter".
It just needs a little larger database of ingredients for cross-dimensional conversions.
Also control panel for preferred units and database access for customization wouldn't be amiss.
There are kitchen spice scales with 0.01g resolution (not that accurate but within 0.025g ):

Hi.
This recipe won't give me annotations. I hope you'll be able to fix it because this feature is amazing. Thank you for providing what every recipe site should out of the box =)
See e.g. https://preppykitchen.com/easy-tiramisu/:
Only the size of the baking dish got converted, and some additional stuff in the instructions later on (not included in screenshot).
Plug in converts all measurements throughout the page except those in the Ingredients list for the chicken stock recipe (about half way down the page).
"1 gallon warm water" is not being converted, e.g., here:
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/170656/simple-chicken-brine/
Example here at Serious eats' fondue recipie
...ratio of about one cup [240 ml] of wine per pound of cheese...
The one cup is converted, but the per pound is not. I also come across this type of ratio measurements in terms of per gallon or per stick of butter. It'll be nice to convert the per to its metric equivalent too. So for the example above it would become
...ratio of about one cup [240 ml] of wine per pound [453 g] of cheese...
Extension does not convert the 'ounce' (mushrooms, tofu) or 'pound' (napa cabbage) measurements on this recipe:
Nor the 'pound' measurements (potatoes, beef) here, although the '10 ounces of vegetables' are correctly converted:
In this page "2 ts yeast" appears and it's not converted. I read in an other thread that if it's less than 4grams then it's not converted but 2ts is around 10grams so is this a bug or something?
https://foodwishes.blogspot.ro/2012/02/garlic-shrimp-not-necessarily-in-that.html
1 1/2 tbsp [22 ml] olive oil
1 pound [450 g] shrimp
salt to taste
6 cloves garlic, minced fine
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp cold butter [28 g], cut in 4 pieces
...
Highlighted the unconverted ingredient (red pepper flakes).
Thanks for the awesome addon btw 👍
Hi,
Convinced by the usefulness of this plugin and fueled by my desire to cook this recipe, I'd like to draw your attention on this recipe:
https://chefjeanpierre.com/recipes/the-original-onion-pie/
The plug-in seems to work only on certain elements, providing for an unconvincing result.
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/10813/best-chocolate-chip-cookies/
Also here, the 1 cup of white sugar is converted to 200g, whereas I'd prefer if it was dl, because that's how we measure things in Finland and I assume other Nordic countries.
1 cup of butter indeed IS better as grams, so no need to change that.
But also flour is converted to grams, which would be better as dl.
Chocolate chips and walnuts are in dl, which is good!
Perhaps, if people wish to have sugar and flour as grams instead, there could be a simple preferences page for these really common ingredients, in case there's no default usage for them.

Please add conversion to [g] for oils
not everyone likes to measure all liquids by [ml]
it can be messy
Could you pleas put [15ml], [3g], ... in bold letters for readability sake?
or in italic if recipe is already in bold? Or change color or anything?
Also do a bold on detected ingredient modifier like:
1 tbsp butter
to
1 tbsp butter [14 g]
Hi ,
There is an issue with the add-on (that is great! Thank you) in that page, it works on paragraphs but not on the ingredient list.
Here is an example : https://www.bakedbyanintrovert.com/basic-vanilla-buttercream-frosting/
Good Luck !
this app is now not working on Holy Cow! vegan recipes. yesterday I was looking a variations of the same recipe on different websites and it gave different gram weights for half cup of same ingredient on each
https://www.allrecipes.com/carrot-cake-ice-cream-recipe-7371979
Does not recognize and help with the cups
It works in the tekst but not in the ingredient list.
Could you add the option to have a whitelist that makes sites automatically convert the units without needing to click the icon?
