I have never been able to get this to work in much earlier versions and gave up but after last nights XEssentils they used this so I know it works on a BBB it seems

I have a Pi3B+ connected to a color light card and my matrix works great but can't seem to select a matrix in the plugin to type on the screen or draw

Added my 40x30 matrix and put Bottom-Left as the start point.
Everything was backwards.
Changed to Bottom-Right and it was perfect.

My matrix is defined in Nutcracker as bottom-left

Matrix tools is not workung correctly. The webpage freezes on access, and must be manually killed. This behavior happens 100% of the time. The lockup appears to be related to the web page only, the Pi and fppd remain functional and do not have to be restarted.

I am running v1.8 on a Pi-3 with the "maxcpu=1" change. Message Queue Aggregator, Message Queue to Matrix Overlay, Weather, and Crontab Editors installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling each plugin as mentioned somewhere on the forums. The Pi-3 has a wireless dongle installed, which is the primary means of access. Eth0 is directly connected to a Advatek Pixlite 4 controller.

Pixel overlay is configured for a 48x48 Matrix. Playing a sequence through the Pi works correctly on the matrix.

I didn't see a place for a feature request so I'm dropping it here.
A great feature for me would be the ability to place an image behind the Matrix tool in order to trace an image.
Similar to the one under edit model data a feature that can be used to see the background image.

Tried multiple browsers and they all have the same end result. If I select my virtual matrix the black box that I can draw on goes away. If I select a different prop it re-appears. The text effect does work. On the draw tab the fill effect works too.
