Olympics Calendar

This repository contains a script to generate calendar files (.ics) for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, allowing you to sync sports events with your Google Calendar.

Usage

All calendar files are available at this URL: https://fabrice404.github.io/olympics-calendar/
Use the provided URLs to sync with your Google Calendar instead of downloading the files.

Features

Automatic Updates: Calendars update automatically during the event.
Customizable: Select specific sports or teams you're interested in.
Easy Integration: Sync directly with Google Calendar using provided URLs.

Translation

The translations have been generated automatically. If you notice any incorrect translations, please accept my apologies and feel free to open an issue with the correct translation.

Installation

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/fabrice404/olympics-calendar.git
cd olympics-calendar

Install dependencies:

npm install

Generate the calendar files:

npm start

Can you make a similar schedule for the upcoming Paralympics 2024?

No update on proceeded to next round

If a player proceeds to the next round in a kick-off tournament, the new event is not seen in the calendar

Full calendar (all sports, all countries)

First of all, thank you, this is AMAZING. You did an excellent job.

Second: could you please add a full calendar at the end, without having to choose a single country (as I suppose choosing a country would remove all individual events)? It would allow to wake up in the morning and immediately see everything that's scheduled for that day!

Add Ceremonies calendar

Would you consider adding a Ceremonies calendar for the opening and closing ceremonies? "Ceremonies" is often presented on Olympics schedules alongside sports, such as at https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/schedule/grid.

Only finals calendar

It would be nice to have a calendar with only final events, or even more aggregative, so a person can choose a calendar with events above a certain stage.
It can be per sport or even generic for all finals in all sports

Beach volleyball and Volleyball have the same emoji

I'd recommend using 🏐 ⛱️ or so to separate them better.

Small change, though. :)

Trampoline Gymnastics event shows wrong finalists

This shows one athlete who was not part of the Final and excludes one athlete who was part of the Final.

Results update?

Can the events be updated with results so I can send notifications to my discord using IFTTT? Using the event update as trigger. If not, do you know any source for results?

All of the buttons for "Medal Events" for each sport are linked to https://fabrice404.github.io/olympics-calendar/general/general.ics instead of {sport}/medls.ics

Diasggregated Athletics

The data for athletics seems bundled for all events. But I hope as event entries are confirmed, there can be a way to populate a calendar for Athletics with NOC filtering. I can then choose Athletics by country tag, and not just all of them.
