alma-refine's Issues

what stored from Wikidata in $1 is not URI and $a is changed too

Dear Mr. Weisman,

Thank you for develop this cloud app for Alma, it's very very helpful!
I tried a record with Alma Refine using Wikidata, and found that what stored in $1 is entity ID, not URI; also the content in $a is replaced by the label from Wikidata, which broke the existing linking between authority file (no matter CZ or local) and bib record. I understand data reconciliation may suggest transferring the original text, but in MARC bib record it seems not quite appropriate. Please consider just store the URI from Wikidata, but not changing the $a content, thank you.
Here are some screenshots of refined bib, taking "Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone by J.K. Rowling" as example:

Refine only works on 1st 7xx field

Hi,
Refinement search only takes 1st on several 7xx fields, which is a shame.

Only-first-700

Is it a configuration option or something you can improve ?

Thanks !
Have a nice day,
Laurence

Add two services

Dear Mr Weisman,

On behalf of the IGeLU/ELUNE Linked Open Data Community of Practice Working Group, we are requesting to have the following two linked data vocabularies be added to the Alma Refine List:

  1. Homosaurus: https://homosaurus.org/. It has a search API: e.g., https://homosaurus.org/search/v3.jsonld?q=feminism (to support libraries' DEI efforts)

  2. ORCID. It seems to be supported by https://refine.codefork.com/ (to support libraries' needs to display more information about authors)

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We appreciate your help greatly.

Alma Refine - Cannot scroll through term descriptions

If the description of the heading (which is displayed as a pop up you trigger by hovering over the 'i' icon) requires you to scroll, you can't get to the pop up to scroll – as soon as your mouse leaves the 'i' icon, the pop up disappears. Clicking on the 'i' icon selects the heading and closes the list. If I use keyboard commands to force it to focus on the ‘I’ icon, I can then use the mouse to scroll, but most users won’t know how to do this (unless they’re used to adaptive technologies for disabilities) This is particularly unhelpful when picking between common name headings. For an example, if you try to refine the term 'galleries' and scroll through descriptions of 'dwarf galleries' or 'long galleries', you cannot get to the popup to scroll.

Add a new service SUDOC

Hi,
Would it be possible to add a new service for IdRef authorities?
The reconciliation service is http://refine.codefork.com/reconcile/viaf/SUDOC

We're going to change our authority priority configuration in Alma in order to use IdRef from CZ - and it will be usefull for us to get IdRef URIs for some headings.

Thanks in advance !
Laurence

Add VIAF reconciliation

Hi,

Would it be possible to add a reconciliation service from alma refine to VIAF?
That would be great.

thanks!

Save URIs in $0

According to the PCC Task Group recommendations regarding the use of $0 vs $1, the app should be able to store URIs in either location. Specifically WikiData and Geonames should be stored in $1.

Cannot see the changes

Hi,

I am not sure what's run with my settings. The app could not add any links to the bib records. Here are the screenshots:

  1. Find the record and open Alma Refine:

1

  1. Select Wikidata:

2

  1. Successfully add link:

3

  1. Modification date updated:

4

  1. No wikidata link in 100 field:

6

Could you point out which step was wrong and why there's no link added?

Thanks,
Greta

Authorities

Dear Mr Weisman,

I find this tool very interesting and useful. I would like to ask you about the possibility of applying it to authority records as well. Now I don't see that it's possible.

Add a new service Data BNF

Dear Mr Weisman,
This feature is really fine !
Could it be possible to add URI's from french Data.bnf (https://data.bnf.fr/en/ )?

I think here is documentation :
https://data.bnf.fr/en/semanticweb
and
http://api.bnf.fr/sparql-endpoint-de-databnffr

Data.bnf has links with Wikidata and I think BNF has dumps of external links in this file ftp://databnf:[email protected]/DATA/databnf_externalrefs_xml.tar.gz (from page http://api.bnf.fr/dumps-de-databnffr)

Our aim is to enrich our records with data.bnf links for marc21 1xx, 6xx, 7xx fields (subfield 1), mostly for rare books materials as a first step.
Do you think you could add this service to Alma refine app?
Thanks for your help !
Best regards,
Laurence
