Package conflict nrpe from epel with nagios-nrpe from dag about puppet-nrpe HOT 2 CLOSED

You should be able to manage all the specifics of dag's nrpe package with the module parameters like package, service, config_file, user and so on...
try:
class { 'nrpe':
package => 'nagios-nrpe',
service => ...
config_file => ...
}
check the manifest/init.pp for the available parameters which should fit all the differences between epel and dag nrpe versions.
If you do it, please post here or make a pull request to the README where you provide the exact parameters to use the nrpe module with Dag repo, I suppose it can be useful for others.

I know this is a closed ticket, but I just ran across this on a set of boxes I've setup with FastCGI from RPMForge. I had prefered to stick with the EPEL version of nrpe, which was obsoleted by RPMForge, despite the EPEL version number being higher. I resolved this by excluding nagios-nrpe in the rpmforge.repo file. It seems that yum-priorities does not prevent this obsoleting across the repos.
