How to build and install locally

Hi,

great extension, thank you for your work.

I'd like to install it in a secure environment.

Would you generously add a brief section on local building/installing?

Coffee will be indeed bought as you suggest ☕️☕️

Cheers - V

Justification for Permissions?

Hi! It's very kind of you that you published this extension. <3

I have just rated it 5 stars on the extension store, but I wonder why it requires permission to read and change content on websites. Would it be possible to only require access to the URL instead?

Also, do you have a paypal or such where I could drop you money for a coffee?

Documentation Improvement

I don't know if this happens in all browsers, but in Opera, when you go to the Extensions Settings, the "Allow access to search page results" option should be turned on. Otherwise, the extension will not work. It's probably worth it to add it to the installation steps.

Donation link

Per #1 it would be great to have the option to donate to the maintainer/author.

[Research] Try to reduce permissions to access to URLs

Follow-up for #1

Current set-up (v. 1.0.0) is better than <all_urls>, but it still requests access for all the pages contents on all the Google search domains.

To check: if it's possible to implement it by only accessing URLs.

I think that some drawbacks will come from such an implementation though, e.g.:

  • go to Google search results page
  • copy a link address

In that case the version with access to contents would replace the link's URL before the copying and the copied URL wouldn't contain the text fragment section. However if the URL is changed during navigation, copying operation would still give the unmodified URL.
