very tiny issue - url with whitespace at beginning...

a very tiny issue, a user wrote:

I like your plugin a lot, but there is one big flaw in it.. If you
copy-paste URL from somewhere to address bar and you there is space ("
") in front of the URL then it tries to google it instead of going to
that address.. Without your plugin firefox can handle it just fine and
automatically remove that empty space.. I don't think there should be
anything preventing your plugin to work in the same way? Like
detection if first character is " " and if that's the case then
removing it before going doing anything else..

Add Instant Translator (Google Translate) -> 4 character

Researching status (may be feature overkill atm)

Google gives us some Instanttranslate in this format:
http://translate.google.com/#en|de|some%20test%0A

so let’s reserve 4 character instantsearch for translation and automatically deliver:
deen test (a german english translation) → (de for deutsch)

or if the browser language of the user is english, the shortcut will be:
geen test (a german english translation) → (ge for german)

add favicons in front of addressbar while searching

a user proposed to add the favicon in front of the addressbar when searching like in this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/awesomer-bar/

nevertheless i guess we need to cache icons in this case...

search plugin disarrangement after update to 2.4.2

Dear InstantFox team,

For whatever reason, today I found out that two out of three of my custom search engines disappeared from InstantFox - namely Dictionary.com and Bulbapedia (Which I spent quite some time to figure out the suggest URL - now completely vanished).
However, one remained - Thesaurus.com, and after I added Dictionary.com again there was two Thesaurus.com and I can't remove either of them.
When I was adding Dictionary.com I unchecked the suggest function, but later it was automatically turned on with the old, broken suggestqueries.google.com URL.
Also, several - but not all - of the default search engines of the Firefox Search Box that I previously disabled showed up in my custom search engines, and I later disabled them.
When pressing the "copy technical data" on the report a bug page, all it pasted is this:

I have a rather severe problem with InstantFox. Lately (it's been the third time now), every InstantFox update drops all of my custom plugins and prefixes and replaces it with the defaults.

I'm on Firefox 8 on Fedora 16, Polish locale.

For whatever reason, today I found out that two out of three of my custom search engines disappeared from InstantFox - namely Dictionary.com and Bulbapedia (Which I spent quite some time to figure out the suggest URL - now completely vanished).
However, one remained - Thesaurus.com, and after I added Dictionary.com again there was two Thesaurus.com and I can't remove either of them.
When I was adding Dictionary.com I unchecked the suggest function, but later it was automatically turned on with the old, broken suggestqueries.google.com URL.
Also, several - but not all - of the default search engines of the Firefox Search Box that I previously disabled showed up in my custom search engines, and I later disabled them.
When pressing the "copy technical data" on the report a bug page, all it pasted is this: (...)

I would love to present an example that the instantfox commandline could handle more complex orders like:

f capetown > new york in one week + 2 weeks?

capetown could be guessed by the users current location.
new york could be quessed by first letter + most common flight combos
date could be 11. (autocomplete current month)

and so on... ^ user could autocomplete by tab - mmmh still too complex... isn't it...

Tabs overwriting from URL bar

With Firefox 10 and v2.6.1 of this extension on Win7 anything from the URL bar doesn't open in a new tab. Everything opens in the current tab.

Tried disabling and enabling options...nothing.
Uninstall/disable this extension and things are working fine.

Instantfox doesn´t give bookmarks priority in the search results listing;
the bug is still present when Instantfox is disabled

google sometimes loses searchbox

Some user report that sometimes Google forgets it's searchbox like here:

This mostly happens when using the native Google searchbox (not Instantfox)

On Instantfox update → previously used custom search plugins are lost

I can't reproduce this, but it looks like this user is a loyal long-term user! :)
May be "reset all search plugins" could work for him!?

I am a big fan of Instant fox and have been using since its early days. Every time, there is an update of instant fox, all my previously used custom search plugins are lost. And they are quite large in number. I have to go through the cumbersome process of adding each one of them manually. Please suggest a workaround and try to fix this bug asap.
I am not sending the firefox profile information, as I faced this problem with different versions of firefox, across different machines I used. I have faced this problem at least 3-4 times on this same machine with different firefox versions. I have also faced the problem on my personal laptop as well as a different machine. Most recently, I faced this with latest instant fox update, which was around Feb 7-8, I guess. I was using Firefox 10.0.1. Let me know, if you need anything else.

mozilla review / update procedure

Today, the 👑 royal highness mozilla addon review bureaucracy foundation released a 2 weeks old and buggy Instantfox version without attending my note "to not release that version.."

I removed that version and asked for an urgent update of our current version instead which needs to go through the bureaucracy procedure first of course 🎷

Nevertheless, is solution could be to push updates from our server!?
Does AMO overwrite the UpdateURL if hosted there?

Better automatic language-detection on install for search pluginset

let’s try to detect the country of the user via http://geoiplookup.wikia.com/
(or i can set up our own geo-ip-location service) in the future to better auto-choose the search pluginset for him.

Alternatively we can give the user an option on the welcome.php page where he can choose his search-country.
Adblock has a similar system after install!? - not that important yet but the firefox applocale is almost always wrong...

We can move it from the advanced tab into the main searchengine tab on top
