cmap's Issues

Handle corrupt object files

In CMAP all persistent objects such as projects, stories etc. are stored as XML files. Right now the code simply throws an exception which is not caught when an error is encountered while parsing the file which results in program termination. This behaviour should be changed to catch the exception, log the error and simply ignore the corrupted object. The contents of the file on disk should not be affected. This strategy allows a user to correct the error manually without losing any data.

Pushing file changes to Github

Right now, when a user saves a file, it is only committed locally. It is not pushed to Github until the CMAP application is closed. This makes it difficult to demonstrate the ability to receive file changes in real time from other users. The fix is to change the code to push to Github when the file is saved.

Handling GAE collaboration URL's

Curently, a user specifies the complete GAE URL, including the page needed. This works OK in the current environment where there is only a single page being accessed, but in the future it would probably be better to let the code that accesses the page add the page name to the URL based on configuration/command line information.
