How are you building on Windows? Are you opening Acid as a VS regular project, VC cmake project, generating an output with Scripts/generate_vs.bat, or using an IDE like clion? If you let me know how you are trying to build I help you find a solution.

I'm using cmake to generate the VS 2017 project files.

If you are creating build files via cmake you must create a Build folder for the cmake outputs to build into. The cmake GUI has a selection for the sources folder and a separate build folder.
