We currently assume a horizontal (left-to-right) orientation for wiring diagrams. Add support for vertical orientation (top-to-bottom).

Because layout is outsourced to other software, this should only affect the placement of ports and labels. Placement of box labels may be more awkward in vertical orientation, so horizontal orientation should remain the default.

Provide an API for custom handling of mouse events, especially clicks, on boxes, ports, and wires. Would be useful for integration in larger applications.

Labels on mouse hover for the output ports of the outer box are invisible because they are positioned outside the canvas. Intelligently adjust the label positions so that they are within the canvas bounds.

Integrate with elkjs to provide client-side layout, as an alternative to server-side layout by Graphviz. The integration should be straightforward since our JSON format for graphs is nearly identical to ELK's.
