We would like to shift most of the main Ember website to use Fastboot and Ember across the board. Getting this mini app to run in that environment is the first step toward making this either an engine or more likely the main Ember website ... Details to be hashed out here as we get closer to that point ...
Per @rwjblue:
basically, from here: https://emberjs.com/builds/canary we need to update the app to fetch http://builds.emberjs.com/canary.json and then that is the current canary location
Add some data and figure out how to display it. Could be as simple as a sentence saying what are the major blockers.
Figure out how to best integrate it with the website repo for publishing.

Context:
At the moment it looks like the warning in the Guides about being in an older version of the Guides. Every time I visit the builds page my brain pattern matches hard. We should introduce a different style of call to action to this page.
To-Do:
We are still showing bower instructions for installing Ember into your application, example: emberjs/website#3008.
This instruction should be switched to use the ember-source
npm package.
Might be nice to have it on an LTS release for a bit ...
Instructions on upgrading can be found here: https://github.com/ember-cli/ember-cli/releases/tag/v2.12.3
It is no longer done via CSS: https://emberjs.com/builds/release/.
Replace copy-clipboard button with https://github.com/jkusa/ember-cli-clipboard which uses https://clipboardjs.com/ internally (and avoids the flash dependency).
We want to make sure we remove jQuery to cut down on bloat.
I think the following should likely be deleted:
I'm unsure about:
I don't think we use async
/ await
in app code, so we can probably move this to ember-maybe-import-regenerator-for-testing
(ala this scenario from my blog post).
Matching the tweaks here: emberjs/website#2635
We currently have a bunch of deprecation warnings for being behind on versions.

I just put in a PR to attempt a fix for a mixed-content issue here: #68
However, although that is required to remove the mixed-content errors in Chrome (isn't it?) our current build infrastructure (hosted on Amazon S3 I believe) doesn't apparently support https (I should have checked before putting in that PR).
How do we want to handle this? https://emberjs.com/ defaults to https (and I don't think we want to adjust that). @rwjblue are you able to update builds.emberjs.com
so it serves content via https? Seems like that's our cleanest option ...
