juno's Issues

Flatpak app integration

Currently using the Slack-desktop app from the AUR with Juno works great. However, installing the flatpak version shows issues in the title bar. See screenshots:

Flatpak:

AUR:
image

Notice how the dark theme is respected in AUR version but not flatpak version.

The flatpak wiki states you need to submit the theme to flathub, and then users install the theme through a flatpak to integrate in flatpak apps: https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/desktop-integration.html#installing-themes

Is this something that can be done? I didn't see Juno when I searched.
flatpak remote-ls flathub | grep org.gtk.Gtk3theme | grep -i Juno

Fix symbolic links to use relative locations rather than absolute

The following files:

assets/maximize_unfocused.png
assets/min_unfocused.png

are using absolute paths and therefore when Juno is installed, these are not properly resolved. Please use relative (-r) paths for creating symbolic links.

cd /home/lara/github/Juno/assets
ln -fsr /home/lara/github/Juno/assets/maximize_unfocused.png /home/lara/github/Juno/assets/close_unfocused.png
ln -fsr /home/lara/github/Juno/assets/min_unfocused.png /home/lara/github/Juno/assets/close_unfocused.png

Thanks

Week numbers and weather hours are illegible in Gnome 3.36

First, thank you Eliver for designing such a beautiful theme. The only issue that I've found so far is related to the weeks' numbers and the weather's hours displayed on the calendar. They are way too dark to be readable. I think that changing their actual color for a lighter one (like white o a light green) might do the trick. I include here a picture of the issue to better illustrate my point.

Evolution White Text White background

After the upgrade to gnome shell 3.34 I am unable to read emails in Evolution. I am able to read the signature due to it having custom colors.

Hex color code of darker text color?

In Firefox, two text colors are often used:

https://i.imgur.com/ni3PhaJ.png (This is the search bar which opens up when I press Ctrl + F.)

I found the hex color code of the brighter one (#090c0e).

But what is the hex color code of the darker one on the right hand side? I think it is also used in the URL bar from Firefox.

Cinnamon maximized window issue

I am on Ubuntu 202.04 with cinnamon.
The problem is with the maximized window. when window is maximized there is 5px gap from top.

The following screenshots are from firefox with settings for no titlebar.

In last screenshot the window is not maximized and you can see that there is no margin from top.
I have similar issue on nordic theme

Juno-v40 rounded corners in XFCE panel

I use Juno-v40 with much pleasure.

Since I upgraded to XFCE 4.18 I noticed however there are rounded corners in the panel....

image

I fixed it by creating a custom file ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css, the content:

.xfce4-panel {
  border-radius: 0px;
}

Please consider fixing this issue in your theme :). You might want to check-out XFCE v4.18 as well for yourself.

After my fix, it looks like this again:

Incorrect display of the dock on Gnome 40

Hi.

The theme is awesome, but Gnome 40 was released and there some things that look bad. The main problem is the dock, it would be nicer if it looked like the ones of the default theme. Another small problem is the calendar widget (hover on it)

Weird Black gap on window borders

Hey Everyone!
First I would like to thank EliverLara and all other open source enthusiasts for this great Community!

Now coming to the issue,The issue I am encountering is that there is a weird black gap on
the window border in the youtube-dl-gui app and this issue exists with all variants of Juno theme and Nordic Themes but it is not present in Otis theme.

I am using xfce v4.16 with arco-Linux

I have attached the screenshot below:

Vscode themes this is based on?

I'm looking to get my vscode to match this theme. Where are the themes that Juno says its be inspired from?

EDIT: some more googling would have helped me. They are called things like Mirage, Palenight, etc.

Lock screen password

Hello,

I love theme, thank you for designing it.

I have one minor issue on the lock screen. The password always sticks out to the left of the password field. I have attached two images of the lock screen in two different resolutions.

Firefox Main Back Button Not Showing Arrow

Hello, love the theme, but running Firefox version 65 and noticed the main/back button only shows an arrow if you mouse over it, else it is just a big circle. Can you add an arrow to it?

Top bar buttons do not appear in some apps

Hello!

Thank you for this awesome theme! I really love it. Unfortunately, in some apps the "close" and minimize buttons seem to be missing. It seems to be connected to new libadwaita themed gtk 4 apps. The buttons are funtional. You can click on the empty space where the button should be and it will close the window. I attached an image which shows that the nautilus buttons render flawlessly and the settings buttons are missing.

I am on arch with the latest gnome DE.

High CPU usage on xfce4-panel in XFCE v4.18

Since I upgraded to XFCE 4.18 I noticed high CPU usage of the xfce4-panel process.

The root-cause was in Panel->Panel Preferences -> Appearance tab-> Background style-> "None (use system style)".

The moment I changed this to "Solid color" instead, the high CPU usage issue went away..

I think you need to look into the default panel style, especially the background..

Thanks in advance...

Juno Ocean

Been trying to lighten the font-color a bit in Juno Ocean, but doesn't ever seem to take effect. Pretty sure I'm not modifying the correct css entry.

In gtk-3.0\*.css I am updating @define-color theme_text_color #6F7678;

Any help would be appreciated. The best dark theme I've come upon after trying a few dozen but the font the desktop/apps/etc is a bit too dark for me to read.

PURPLE

You should edit the theme to use a purple color palette. Juno Ocean.

Icons theme doesn't work

when coping the icons theme Juno-ocean-standard-buttons folder into /use/share/icons ,and choosing it via tweak tools, the icons of everything becomes the default gnome icons.

when I tried fixing it i noticed that there were no folder like x24 x32 x64 .... like in all of the other themes only assets and css file

using gnome 3.38.4 on pop os 20.04 kernel 5.11.0-7620-generic

Is it possible to create a compact version?

Is it possible to create a compact version? I really like the theme,especially juno palenight

But I have a notebook with fedora linux with screen 1366 x 768 ... the calendar is therefore definitely immense!!!

Juno-Ocean errors when compiling scss/css for gtk-3.0/gtk-4.0

I'm trying to modify the highlight color (teal) through editing the .css and .scss files. The gnome-shell folder was able to built and functioned correctly when using sass according to issue #16, but I get these errors for these commands:

[eghere@eg-blade gtk-3.0]$ sass gtk.scss gtk.css
Error: Undefined variable.
  โ•ท
3 โ”‚  * 10 | @define-color theme_fg_color #{"" +$fg_color};
  โ”‚                                            ^^^^^^^^^
  โ•ต
  _colors.scss 3:44  @import
  gtk.scss 5:9       root stylesheet

The same error happens when I try it in gtk-4.0. Any help is appreciated.

Main interface font color

Hi, thanks for the great designs, this is one of the best I've seen. I'd like to know, is there a way to change the font color? I find it a bit too dark. I had a look in the .css file of the gnome-shell directory but not sure which variable needs editing. By main interface, I mean in the file explorer for example.

Question: how to customize titlebar color?

Using Juno dark. I have added this at the bottom of ~/.themes/Juno-standard-buttons/gtk-3.0/gtk.css

.titlebar, headerbar {
  background-color: #00827f;
}
.titlebar:backdrop, headerbar:backdrop {
  background-color: #004947;
}

This works partially. Only GTK3 apps could have colored titlebar. Strangely enough, Gnome terminal titlebar remains unaffected. GTK2 apps are insensitive to the above settings. Can you please show what CSS style should be modified to:

  • Set terminal titlebar color
  • GTK2 apps titlebar color

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

Text Contrast in Juno and Juno-Ocean

I have been having a difficult time seeing contrast between certain text colors in Juno and Juno Ocean on certain applications. I've had issues with monitor colorizing in the past, so i wouldn't be surprised if its just on my end, but if it's not, would be really cool to see it fixed.

  • Juno, in xscreensaver preferences
    image

m6502 is installed, while Maze3D and others arnt, but I can hardly tell which would be. Ocean has the same issue

  • Juno Palenight
    image

Here's Palenight to compare, it shows alot more contrast between the two colors

Some parts of the theme have text the background is too dark

text almost the same color as the background:

Captura de tela de 2022-06-25 22-11-22

black right icons background:

Captura de tela de 2022-06-25 22-11-47

Elements selected in background window are too dark in color:

Captura de tela de 2022-06-25 22-12-19

The problem seems to occur because the theme switches to "light mode" and in it the fonts are dark.

Icon Theme + Vs Code Theme

Heyy,

I am in love with the theme in the ocean branch!

2 Things:

  1. What is the icon theme you are using.
  2. You mentioned those themes are inspired by vs-code themes. Do you mind linking those vs-code themes? I really wanna have this theme.

Thanks btw <3333

Build fails using Python 3

The build system requires Python 2 to build this theme. Python 2 is deprecated, so please update the build to support Python 3.
