arch-btrfs-installation's Issues

manually rollback

Thanks for your project!

I wonder how can I rollback the rootvol when I make every messy?

When I try to mv the backup in _snapshots to _active/rootvol, It tells me that it's a Read-only ***.
When I btrfs subvolume delete the subvolume of rootvol, the system went to hell... XD

Help needed. Thanks.

Replacing grub with systemd-boot?

Thanks for the amazing project, this will always be my go-to for archlinux installation...
Just wanted to ask whether is it possible to install system-boot to /boot/efi instead of grub?
Thanks in advance :) .

Systemd-boot installation?

Previously I created a thread asking if systemdboot was compatible with this installation.
I tried installing the boot with bootctl --esp-path=/boot/efi it went successfully then I copied arch-btrfs.conf from the repo but it didn't work out.
/boot/efi/loader/entries/arch-btrfs.conf
Is the location of the entry.
Any advices?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: systemd-boot requires a fat32 partition for installation. So if /dev/sda1 is mounted as /boot I guess it won't get snapshot. Also if /dev/sda1 is mounted as /boot/efi systemd boot config does not read the vmlinux-linux and .img in /boot. Are there any possible solutions to solve both of these issues?
Again thanks

Why a subvolume for /tmp?

Is there any advantage of having /tmp as a separate btrfs subvolume over just mounting a tmpfs device at that location? Are there circumstances under which /tmp would ever be just a regular directory on the root fs? Thanks!

Guide conflicts with ButterManager wiki

This guide says to set up the filesystem and subvolumes a certain way.

Main Volume
|
----Subvolume (/<name>)
|
--------Subvolume (/<name>/<subname>)
|
--------Subvolume (/<name>/<subname>)
|
----Subvolume (/<snaps>)

The wiki says for GRUB integration, it must be:

Main Volume
|
----Subvolume (/<name>)
|
----Subvolume (/<name>/)
|
----Subvolume (/<snaps>)

I'm confused. Can you help me understand the right way to set this thing up? Is the wiki dated? The guide dated?

Newbie question

Hi! Thanks for the awesome guide. I just followed and installed Arch with btrfs on my laptop.

If you don't mind, I have a question regarding docker. I use docker and docker-compose, both on my work laptop and server. I don't use Arch on server but Ubuntu.

I believe this section is more likely for the Arch servers, right? Or, I should do it whether it is server or not?

By the way, did you mean mkdir /mnt/defvol instead of mkdir /mnt/mnt/defvol?
