Hi, it might be that this problem just occurred for me but I got an error while executing your examples: Error: could not find function "scatterplot3d"
For my own copy I added this to gap-statistic.R so it's already there when someone tries to run the examples:
library(scatterplot3d)
Or maybe you want to add this line to the examples.

My name is Paul McMurdie, and I'm the main developer/maintainer for a computational biology package called phyloseq.
I don't know of any other R implementations of this gap statistic algorithm for which I could make proper dependencies in my package. I wanted to ask you formally if I could adapt your could, and include it in my package - with attribution to you as author, of course. I wanted to both give you the opportunity to decline, as well as the opportunity to define some sort of license to this for sharing/resharing.
Thanks for the consideration. I'd also be happy to discuss any details or reservations you might have, and also show you a draft of the adapted code in phyloseq, prior to any release.
