microphone-mute-indicator's Issues

Hotkey support

  • I have one request.
  • Please could you add a command to control the mic on/off status? Ie rather than using the mouse, can assign a key for speed. Ideally want something quick, like I press CTRL M. Need a key that is quick to access, but does not prevent something else.
  • Thank you. I sometimes stumble to get my mouse there quick enough when on a call. Ideally like one button near bottom. Maybe the NUM ./DEL? or INSERT? or even better, user defined...

Muted Icon

Hi, I like the program
I have a suggestion, can you change the muted icon with another like the mic with a slash.

Recently I download the program and sometimes I forget what is the muted icon and this is a little confusing.

Not Able to change Icon color?

Hi,

Is there any way to change the icon color.?

Actually I keep my Notification area totally white, so your white icon is not visible.

Thanks

SysTray does not pic up on-mic mute button changes

Mute works when clicking the sysTray icon, and sysTray icon shows muted.
Mute function works when pressing the mute button on the mic, but the sysTray icon still shows un-muted.

If I mute the mic with the hardware button then click the sysTray icon, the icon changes to black and the mic stays muted. If I click the sysTray icon again, icon changes back to white and mic is un-muted.
If I mute the mic with the the sysTray icon, then un-mute with the hardware button, the sysTray icon still shows mute but the mic is un-muted.

The light on my hardware mute button (on USB cord) is failing, hence the need for microphone-mute-indicator when I hit the button.

Command line argument support

As an easy way to support more use cases / configuration, we could add command line arguments that allow configuring certain things about the app and/or triggering functionalities programmatically.

Ideas so far:

Tray icon configuration:

  • --icon-theme <auto|light|dark> which could help with #3 (comment).
  • --icon-muted PATH and --icon-unmuted PATH to set a custom icon, which helps with #6.

Immediate actions:

  • --action-mute, --action-unmute, --action-toggle-mute control muted state, as suggested in #5 (comment).
  • --action-exit, to exit the program immediately after the action has been executed (to be combined with above, so it doesn't open a second tray icon).
  • --action-set-default-capture-device DEVICENAME to allow changing the default capture device (would need to determine a good way to match this devicename. Internally deviceid's are used, perhaps we should use those here too if those are always consistent?)
