After TM/ handbrake CLI is finished working, it would be nice to have it move
the _finished_ file to a new location, such as "add to iTunes"

I finally got the transcoding to work automatically, but it's not auto tagging
and adding to itunes.
It will tag if I go into edit and click 'update metadata', 'write metadata',
and 'save', but doesn't
work by itself.
I've changed my target folder to 'automatically add to itunes' folder in my
itunes, but its not
working. I think it has something to do with the temp file. If I directly drag
it into the
'automatically add to itunes' after the transcoding is complete, it works.
What's the best way to set this up.
Great program, can't wait to get it setup properly.
Thanks,

also i wish it would quit automatically after finishing all jobs.

1. Transcode video for a TV show with ampersand in the name - i.e. Mike & Molly
S01E12 First Christmas.
2. Torrents for Mike & Molly actually come through as "Mike.and.Molly".
Transcoding machine automatically tries searching for "Mike and Molly", which
results in no hits on thetvdb.com and no metadata stored.
3. If you manually edit the show name to "Mike & Molly" and hit "Update
Metadata", it returns a show called "Jack and Mike", instead of the correct
show: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=164501&lid=7

I'm new to Transcoding Machine but a long time user of Breakfast.
I've recently been questioning the entire need to transcode anything with the
advent of apps like Plex, Boxee and the like that will play almost any filetype.
That said, I love the tagging, artwork, and renaming functionality of TM and
Breakfast. Is there a way to keep those, but turn off the handbrake
transcoding portion of the app? If not, can you recommend an alternative?
Thanks.

Thanks for your earlier reply on issue #4. I just did a little more digging and
have some more
information.
When I navigate inside the application package and attempt to run the
TranscodingMachine
executable, I get the following error:
Last login: Fri May 28 09:38:58 on ttys002
/Users/<username>/Downloads/TranscodingMachine.app/Contents/MacOS/TranscodingMac
hin
e ; exit;
$
/Users/<username>/Downloads/TranscodingMachine.app/Contents/MacOS/TranscodingMac
hin
e ; exit;
-bash:
/Users/<username>/Downloads/TranscodingMachine.app/Contents/MacOS/TranscodingMac
hin
e: Bad CPU type in executable
logout
[Process completed]
And when I do "file TranscodingMachine", I get the following:
$ file TranscodingMachine
TranscodingMachine: Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
It should also have an entry for "Transmit (for architecture i386): Mach-O
executable i386" too,
correct?

I have Monitored folder set to: /Users/tom/Downloads/Transmission complete/
I have Output folder set to: /Users/tom/Downloads/Converted
I have Transcoder set to: /Applications/HandBrakeCLI
Extensions is set to avi,m4v,mkv,mp4
I have made sure those folders and the HandbrakeCLI exist at those locations.
Monitoring is active.
When I drop an avi in the "Transmission complete" folder, nothing happens that
I can see. Do I need to look for HandbrakeCLI in Activity Monitor or using ps
-al in Terminal?
Do I need to have TM launched? Do I need to press Start in the Queue window?
Can TM handle spaces in paths to folders?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Transcoding machine with privileged user
2. Run Transcoding Machine as non privileged User and attach to folder
3. Copy script manually to folder action folder and change permissions to
executable
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I was expecting to have the folder action running, but unfortunatly even after
manually setting up the folder actions and several reboots no file is added to
the queue.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version downloaded yesterday 1.0RC4, Running on SL 10.6.4 all updates
Please provide any additional information below.
As mentioned, first problem is that the initial run of transcoding machine can
not be done as a none privileged user, my workaround was to manually copy the
script and chmod. Still so, this does not seem to work. Attached you will find
the system logs of
1.) Entries with comments
2.) Addtional Logs for launchctl etc.

Thank you for this great little program.
I have been using it every day, and it would be great if there were an option
in the preferences panel to delete the original file after encoding and tagging
is complete. This would keep my hard drive a little less cluttered.
Thanks!

When I try to run Transcoding Machine, I get the following error:

Also, the application icon shows a circle with a line through it, indicating
that it cannot be opened
(See screenshot).

It would be great if you could add the ability to pause the queue (not cancel
it). Basic functionality would be great. Adding a time delay would be even
better. i.e. pause for 5 mins, 15 mins, 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours.

Hi,
I realize that Handbrake doesn't even support this, so it might be a lot harder
for transcoding-machine to support this, but when downloading MKV's, what one
can do to play them on the iPad or iTV is remuxing them into M4V/MP4 format
without re-encoding the video (but creating a stereo audio track). This
process takes a couple minutes versus hours.
One tool that does this already is called MKVTools, but it doesn't have the
awesome tagging features like your app does.
Thanks,
Mike

The metadata placed in the Video > Description field describes the overall
show, as opposed to the
specific episode. In this instance, either:
1) The specific episode synopsis should be written in to the field.
2) If specific episode information is unavailable, the field should be left
blank.
"Breakfast" (http://code.google.com/p/videoengine/) seemed to handle this OK, I
think retrieving
the information from thetvdb.com.

It would be nice to add specific support for external subtitiles
1 . Basic choice
A. Download subtitle and place it on the same folder with same filename.srt
B. Add subtitles to HnadbrakeCLI command line with --srt-file.
C. We need a macro to access to srt file, based on input filename. |INPUT| can
be used?
D. We need it to be optional, dont fail if subtitle file is not present.
2. Advanced choice would be to automatically try to download the subtitle from
opensubtitiles or other web providers.

Using HandBrakeCLI 0.9.4, TranscodingEngine will immediately fail on attempting
to start an
encode.
The -m option appears to be deprecated from HandBrakeCLI 0.9.4 - changing this
to "--strict-
anamorphic" (seemingly the replacement in 0.9.4) appears to work correctly.

I would like to use the transcoding machine to replace the breakfast
videoengine. Breakfast has presets for the AppleTV, but I am not aware that the
transcoding machine does. I like the extra flexibility of the transcoding
machine in that I can use any HandBrakeCLI command line args that I want to
use. But, how do I determine what args to use? I would like to convert video to
mp4 for the AppleTV, and, on occasion, to mp4 with deinterlacing (also for the
ATV).
Here is what is already in the prefs for the arguments:
-i |INPUT| -o |OUTPUT| -e x264 -q 0.589999973773956 -a 1,1 -E faac,ac3 -B
160,auto -R 48,Auto -6 dpl2,auto -f mp4 -4 -X 1280 -P --strict-anamorphic -x
level=30:cabac=0:ref=3:mixed-refs=1:bframes=6:weightb=1:direct=auto:no-fast-pski
p=1:me=umh:subq=7:analyse=all
Does transcoding machine use prefs already set in breakfast?

I'd like to join the project and help contribute code. I re-wrote the user
interface using BWToolkit which I thought made the app look a bit more
polished. Not sure if you are even interested in it, but if you are, I'd like
to check it in. Otherwise, I'd like to contribute to the app.
Here is a screenshot.
