Good point… I’d suggest discussing with Eugene & Sophia from the PM side, and maybe Anuja Gogate + Kevin Stong from engineering. Would be good to have ShareFile built out as a 1st-class “system of record” and think through not only notifications but perhaps micro-apps and actions that we want to introduce for content. I think we should also connect with Sujan Balachandran in Bangalore as he is working on a “quick apps” strategy where the ShareFile platform will hold structured data (tables, forms etc). That’s longer term but very interesting combination to brainstorm on.

Re: Facebook Workplace Review

Adding a few more folks as we may have some prior work in this area.

Guys,

Can you please put together a competitive overview of Facebook Workplace?

I am particularly interested in their integration capabilities and what we should learn from it.

RE: WSX-225 Actionable Notification Stream - Feed in Workspace Platform Planning

Hi everyone,

Thanks for joining today, it was very helpful to join a few threads together. Here is a summary, I will add this to the initiative ticket as well:

The following areas need to be defined and tickets created before WSX-225 can be RFI (Ready for Implementation):

Feed endpoint URL to point to a Sapho API to start. This way we can start client work without depending on the Sapho move to Citrix Cloud and Cloud infrastructure.

Feng Huang mailto:[email protected] so we can create new Workspace Platform (STF) ticket for this.

We will keep STF-3465 and defer the work to after Q1.
Radovan Hrabcak mailto:[email protected] will link the Sapho tickets for admin and resource provider work that this depends on.

Display of the detailed microapp view

Richard Bartos mailto:[email protected] to define work and create tickets.

Mobile :
Ben Robbins mailto:[email protected] has updated tickets to connect them with this initiative.

Please let me know if I missed anything, thanks!

Hi everyone,

I started creating epics for
https://issues.citrite.net/browse/WSX-225 and would like to get together and confirm that the tickets we have cover the work needed and if there is anything missing on the Platform side, especially the work between the notifications service and Workspace
Platform.

This is a tough group to schedule for so if you can’t make it, please let me know and I will find time to chat beforehand. Or you can send someone else in your place, here’s the groups we need:
Sapho
Workspace Platform
WSUI
Mobile

[Minutes/Action Items] RE: Follow-up meeting RE: [Project Neuron] API Platform: Micro Apps Service

Hi Rado, Richard, Pavol,
Thanks for your time and valuable info sharing.

I gathered the below info relevant from API Platform perspective. P

APIs planned as of now:
Feed API (Notifications) , Actions API, Details API
Q1 plan: to deliver Feed API (Notifications Feed API can be used by multiple services e.g. sharefile, sapho)
Date for Q1 APIs availability: Still in planning
Terminology: Notifications service would be new (multi-tenant micro-service),
Micro-apps service (Sapho Server) would leverage the same implementation as Sapho.
Citrix REST API Guidelines familiarity: Sapho team is aware of the REST API guidelines and leveraging the same.

Open Questions:

  1. The private APIs in planning for Notification service ?
  2. Do we have the list of APIs that are a part of Micro-apps service ?

Next steps:

  1. Please share the date when Feed API would be available. (Rado/Richard)
  2. API Platform IWS APIs onboard Jira Epic creation/sharing (Anuj) [will share by 14th-Jan]
  3. Devise the plan for IWS API onboard to API Platform. [by 21st-Jan]

Will setup time further to take this forward. In the meantime, please share any comments about the above info.

Eugene: Please share any thoughts/feedback on the above.

Regards,
Anuj

Thanks Rado, for the response.
For #1, Will await architecture details. Please send when ready.
For #3: Will await your response. Lets connect early in Jan.
For #5: The question around API traffic was: 1) specific to Micro Apps service (not whole IWS) 2) API traffic in general, segregated as Public and Private APIs

For #4: Pavol Otcenas: Please provide info about latency requirements. Detailed questions below.

Hi Richard,
Here is the location of API Guidelines, which all the services (APIs) has to adhere to:

https://code.citrite.net/projects/APIPF/repos/api-guidelines/browse/rest/guidelines.md
I understood from Rado that the Sapho engineering teams are aware of these. We will explain the API compliance/review process in our next meeting.

Rado, Richard:
Are you available for a call later today or tomorrow ?

Agenda:

  • Update from yesterday’s project review with Jeroen-
  • Discuss API Platform Q1 scope and API Gateway Onboarding plan for MicroApps APIs in Q1.
  • API Guidelines, compliance/review process

Thanks and Regards,
Anuj

Hello Anuj,

Adding
Richard Bartos who is PM responsible for mentioned APIs (6) and (2) and

Pavol Otcenas who should be able to answer (4).

In terms of (3) – yes, but still, we know quite little about public IWS APIs plans, Eugene is off till January 7th, I will iterate with him once he is back.
In terms of (5) – we are planning to go for GA by the end of 2019, as of 2nd half of a year, the plan is to onboard first customers (around 10), so the traffic should be quite limited. Are you interested in
public API traffic, or API traffic in general? Is your question related to whole IWS, or just microapps services?

In terms of (1) – target cloud deployment platform and architecture is still subject of change and discussions and should be finalized by the end of this week. I will come back to you, as soon as it is final.

Hi Rado,
Thanks for the time today and a fine overview of Sapho. Have listed some Action items below. Can you please get back on this by tomorrow ?

  1. Architecture information for Sapho (Micro-Apps service). Any diagram would help ?
  2. I understood that engineering team are aware of REST API guidelines and are using the same for new API implementation.
  3. Understood that are current plan is to have 3 Public APIs (Actions, Details, Notifications) [Currently no architecture for Actions and Details]. Can you please also
    confirm:
  4. If this plan for Public APIs is till 2019 and there isn’t an expected increase in Public APIs.
  5. What is the number of Private APIs that exists currently ?
  6. Latency:
  7. Are there any specific API Latency requirements ?
  8. Are there any specific UI Latency requirements ?
  9. Any approaches to predict API traffic for 2019 ?
  10. Connect with Micro Apps API PM

Thanks and Regards,
Anuj

Hi Eugene,
We are in process of finalizing the infrastructure component of API Platform and planning the next steps.

One of the key actions from a recent project review with Jeroen and the leadership team was the on-boarding plan/schedule of Big4 and other services on the API Platform.

In this context, would like to have a meeting with you to discuss the following, and related topics:

  1. API Guidelines compliance for Micro Apps Service.
  2. Discuss scheduling of on-boarding Micro Apps Service API onto API Platform.

If your calendar is up-to-date, I would setup a meeting on Tuesday morning, 18th-Dec (EST).

Look forward to interacting with you.

Regards,
Anuj
