ideaworks's Issues

Installing tastytools

Just documented the issues as I try to set this up.

The installation instructions note problems installing tastytools and I did indeed not have it. The instructions talk about source you have downloaded but this does not seem to be covered earlier. I got it installed using this:

git clone https://github.com/juanique/django-tastytools.git
sudo pip install django-tastytools/

I am using Ubuntu so use sudo but as long as it runs with root it should install.

Bump Django 1.5 version to 1.5.11

Although Django 1.5 is no longer supported for security releases, it may be worth bumping requirements.txt from 1.5.1 to the last security release in the 1.5 series, which was 1.5.11 (assuming you can test that everything still works okay for that release).

(Moving to 1.6 or 1.7 would be best of course, but you'll probably hope for a PR there :-)

No email fork

In the installation guide it states there is a fork that allows it to run with no SMTP server. I wanted to just spin this up locally without an email server. I cannot find the fork or an alternative in the settings.

Is this supported and if so how?

Replace settings.SECRET_KEY in local config

Hi @robrant,

Good to see this project here as OSS!

As a small enhancement, in the INSTALL.md, you might want to note that the user should define a new SECRET_KEY in their local config file that overrides the one in settings.py, since that's in this public repository. (Or implement one of the alternative ways of defining the SECRET_KEY, e.g. using environment variables.)
