It might me beneficial to use AWSCore.jl instead of AWS.jl.
AWSCore.jl has more sophisticated error handling and credentials/configuration handling.
A quick experiment shows that the basic AWSCore.do_request()
function seems to work with DynamoDB...
using AWSCore
using SymDict
using JSON
aws = aws_config()
function dynamodb(aws, operation, query=Dict())
AWSCore.do_request(@SymDict(
service = "dynamodb",
verb = "POST",
url = aws_endpoint("dynamodb", aws[:region]),
resource = "/",
headers = Dict("x-amz-target" => "DynamoDB_20120810.$operation",
"Content-Type" => "application/x-amz-json-1.0"),
content = json(query),
aws...))
end
println(dynamodb(aws, "ListTables"))
Output: {"TableNames":[]}
Hi @dls
Now that we have AWS.jl and DynamoDB.jl, do you think it makes sense to start collecting these packages under JuliaCloud.jl with common maintenance? Of course, this only if you are comfortable. I see some Azure stuff in the works too, and perhaps having JuliaCloud might help accelerate things, or at least collect them under one umbrella, and attract more maintainers.
As described in https://discourse.julialang.org/t/ann-plans-for-removing-packages-that-do-not-yet-support-1-0-from-the-general-registry/ we are planning on removing packages that do not support 1.0 from the General registry. This package has been detected to not support 1.0 and is thus slated to be removed. The removal of packages from the registry will happen approximately a month after this issue is open.
To transition to the new Pkg system using Project.toml
, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#transitioning-from-require-to-projecttoml.
To then tag a new version of the package, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#via-the-github-app.
If you believe this package has erroneously been detected as not supporting 1.0 or have any other questions, don't hesitate to discuss it here or in the thread linked at the top of this post.
You probably didn't intend to leave the keys behind here:
DynamoDB.jl/test/integration_tests.jl
Line 11 in 0a00b00
Unless they are not for a real server.
I suppose running the tests will require some sort of AWS keys. Is it possible do all the tests in the CI run?
If not, you may want to remove them from runtests.jl
, but have them in a separate file that can be run independently.
I can not get the tests to pass. When running Pkg.test("DynamoDB")
I receive the error:
ERROR: LoadError: LoadError: Request failed after 10 retries: Error executing request : Couldn't resolve host name
in retry at /Users/rluke/.julia/v0.4/DynamoDB/src/dynamo_requests.jl:85
in dynamo_execute at /Users/rluke/.julia/v0.4/DynamoDB/src/dynamo_requests.jl:100
Any idea how I can fix this?
