geodesicl's Introduction

馃槃 Hi, I'm Diego Alarc贸n.

馃敪 I am a Chilean passionate about coding and the possibilities that this can generate for all of us in our future. I am also a surveying engineer and I am currently in Germany studying the EAGLE Master.

馃尡 Currently I can say that I handle the following languages/tools a little more than basic:

馃槃 I am constantly learning since science and coding do not stop!!

I am also learning to work with Linux and other free software such as QGis and LibreOffice among others.

Disclaimer
- Not all tools shown and / or commented on will be discussed on my GitHub and/or the Slack channel. I only want to disseminate and deliver free information (found on the internet) to the world of Geosciences.
- In no case do I support piracy or anything related to it. From the above I can say that I do not agree with Sci-hub and its way of bringing science closer, free for all. I only recommend it as an example 馃槈.
- These are only recommendations for free access, which does not imply that the paid software is not of very high quality.

Remove use of rgdal

This package has strong dependence on at least one of rgdal, rgeos or maptools, but does not seem to use any functionality in code. The usage may have been in raster, which now uses terra instead, or may be in examples or vignettes. Please move all use of rgdal, rgeos or maptools to Suggests: and protect any use against these packages not being present. The packages will be archived in October 2023. See https://r-spatial.org/r/2022/12/14/evolution2.html and https://rsbivand.github.io/csds_jan23/bivand_csds_ssg_230117.pdf and perhaps view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlpjIqTPMCA&list=PLzREt6r1NenmWEidssmLm-VO_YmAh4pq9&index=1.

Apparently wrong results sexagesimal()

Hello,
Can you explain why input values 40 25 25.98 (for example) into sexagesimal() results in 39.57612 degrees ?
This doesn't make any sense to me. It should be 40.423883.
Regards
Neil
