The entire game will not need to be decompiled. As per #14, a side project is to cross reference everything in between game versions. This will allow us to pull the code which changed right out of Hellfire and combine it with what we already have. So in a sense, yes, it will be added in the future.

Galaxhaxy is right. Hellfire and Diablo are almost identical. Once finished here it's simply what 2 MPQs to load and a few extra little things + two extra levels.

I imagine that the math will be different and the attack patterns will be as well. For example in Hellfire you block before attacking which in a sense you can block to death.

Are you planning to import everything from hellfire into your side project? Im asking because there are some features in hellfire that I love (Crypt level design, skullwing monster, some new spell animations) and some that I really hate and I think they ruin the gothic atmosphere (like nest level, farmer, monk who looks really silly especially when getting hit, all nest monsters, big rats, squecky sounds etc..)

@oli25 I completely agree with you. Hellfire adds things that never belonged in the Diablo universe. The side project I'm working will only add some artwork/sound effects from hellfire. The Monk/Lester are a joke lol.

@galaxyhaxz Exactly! Now I'm even more hyped for your side project. Can't wait to see what you will come up with! I hope you will include crypt levels thou, they look really neat, especially when you enchance the levels palette, like in The Hell mod.
