puppet-monit's Issues

Why separate files per OS release?

Howzit,

Thanks for sharing your work on monit / puppet. I'm a huge fan of monit and just getting started with puppet, so your work is a big help.

Question, what lead to the decision to keep different config file versions for each distro release? I noticed the sid/lenny/maverick/natty separation, but the files appear to have the same options uncommented. The config files vary, but the options that are live appear to be the same. (I only visually compared 2.)

On a separate discussion, I was thinking about writing something that could be used like this:
monit::service { 'something' : checktype => 'process', pidfile => '/var/run/process.pid', startprogram => '/etc/init.d/something start', stopprogram => '/etc/init.d/something stop', }

I'm brand new to puppet, so it's maybe more hassle than it's worth. What do you reckon?

Cheers - Callum.
