goalhorn's Introduction

GoalHorn

This is a Node Red flow that uses JayBlackedOut's goal sensor to trigger a light and play the team goal horn on a Google Home.

Goalhorn Flow

The flow triggers on the nhl_goal event. I edited down goal horns I found on Youtube to be around 30 seconds and named each with the team_id that is sent by the event. To use the horns, put them in an accessible directory, I used my HA local directory, under audio/goalhorns. To get the Google home to play them, I had to use my external URL, and I use Nabu Casa for that (which works great, by the way and supports Home Assistant.)

You will also want to (unless you don't and you can remove it,) create an input_boolean helper in Home Assistant named goal_horn. This way you can disable the flow in case you don't want your movie/sleep/etc interrupted. There is a second, simple flow that I use that resets it to on at 9am every morning. It's handy because if you are using Nabu Casa and exposing entities to Google, you can just say "OK Google, turn off goal horn" and it will stay off until the next morning.

This is the light I currently use for goals: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EEJX70I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's connected to a Sonoff flashed with Tasmota. Here's an action video:

goalhorn's Issues

Question

Hey bud, this isnt an issue so much as a question as this is my first time using Node Red

Is it pulling team ID from the sensors.yaml? Or does team ID need to be set on the node?

I think Im doing this correctly, which would setting entities for the following nodes:

-Speaker
-Light
-Location of goal horns folder

Im assuming it chooses the correct horn based on the team ID that is set? Just wanna make sure I dont have to set it in Node Red

Alexia notify:

Hi how are you getting your Alexa device to play the horns?
I tried calling a service to a direct link to one of those files
And it doesn't work.
There are a few like doorbell that work from call service but I'd love to get the horn flow working.

Any chance of working with me
On this? As I said I can get a call service to play a " sound" but specific MP3's no...

Delay

Anyway to fix the 20+s late delay?
I'm watching on CBC and Sportsnet in Vancouver Canada.

Team horn sound

Does the flow sound all teams playing? Is there a way to only setup your fav teams?
Ill try it out tonight as I just got a google mini.

msg.payload.event.team_id

Do you changethe above " team_id" with your teams number? Example: msg.payload.event.23

Possible to have more than one fav team?

Thanks.
