Avoid subscribe() while interacting with outputs

Is it possible to avoid subscriptions while reacting to an event and emitting an event from it?

I have not seen this case in your talks and I am trying to avoid subscriptions

Angular all the way reactive with Observables/Subjects

Using the Viewmodel pattern should be spread among the angular community, since it is the most simplest way to harnish the potential of RxJs.
