I don't have a problem with this, and I'll do you one better - if this is coded in, there's no reason not to separate transitioning to/from duck into their own animations. This would aid authors who want to set up state base cancels and reactions. Think Soul Caliber, where attacks are different if you initiate them while ducking or rising.
Naming conventions are important. The current set of jump animations and transitions is a nightmare. Big Endian is the way to go.
