• git clone : copy file from github and save to local computer.

• touch : creates a blank new file.

• git add : adds or updates file to be ready for commit

  • git add . : add or updates all files modified or newly added to be ready for commit.

• git commit -m "message here" : get all staged copy of files ready to push

• git push origin : push your local repo up to github.

• git checkout -b branch-name : create a new branch and switch to it.

• git checkout --help : open help menu for git commands related to "git checkout".
