github-trac's Issues

Ignore repeated notifications for same changeset on different branches

The trac hook should detect, when handling a changeset notification, that there is already a comment on that ticket referencing the same changeset with the same message. Instead, it logs another identical comment, resulting in another notification email to watchers of that ticket. This occurs when pushing branch merges.

post-receive URL

Hi there,

I'm not quite what you mean by your instructions for this:

  1. Go to the Admin page for your project on GitHub. Then select the services tab.
    Under the: Post-Receive URLs
Place a link to your Trac repository, in a format like this:

    http://yourdomian.com/projects/projectname/github/APITOKEN

My trac instance is located at http://bugs.phpvms.net - how would that URL be?

Alternative plugin

As you may know, I'm maintaining a plugin with essentially the same goals as github-trac at https://github.com/aaugustin/trac-github. I wrote it when we moved Django's source code to GitHub and I tried to make it robust (for starters, 100% branch coverage).

I see in your README that you don't have much interest in maintaining github-trac anymore. This message is simply to make sure you know there's a solution out there to issues #1, #2, #4, #9, #10 and #11 -- they are solved and validated by unit tests in trac-github.

Don't read me wrong, I'm very happy to see competing implementation in this space. I'm not particularly looking forward to having more users and more support requests. But if you don't want to spend time on github-trac, you can point unsatisfied users to trac-github.

And thanks for the time you spent maintaining github-trac!
