There are too many inverters out there to be able to support them all, and even if they're supported in software there will often be missing hardware (for example wifi or ethernet add-on cards or serial connections).

It's not necessary for solar charging to be 100% accurate, so what we can do is use solar profiles (based on long/lat and available sharing data), weather data, and any possible annual generation data the user may have available. In short, there should be an "closed-inverter configuration" where the user with minimal inputs can still charge their vehicle when solar generation is predicted to be sufficient.

The only required inputs should be postcode (mapped to lat/long) and the watt-peak of the system. Annual generation (from the inverter not the energy bill) could be an optional input. The rest should be done using Solar Charger.

This will require some kind of call to an external weather service to work.
