flink-training-web's Issues

Add a Gelly task

Hi there artisans,

does this repo accept contributions? :D

@samk3211 has started working on Gelly and we are thinking of adding one graph task to this training.
Our idea is to take the edges of the reply-to graph, merge the duplicate nodes, create a graph and run a weighted PageRank algorithm on it.
What do you think about this?
Can you please give her some pointers on what she needs to add?
Slides, description on the website, sample code?

Thank you!

Convert training into a Step-by-Step website

Make a Step-by-Step training following the agenda of the first training with integrated Slideshare slides.

The goal should be that

  1. The training material can be used completely online without further instructions
  2. The training can be presented only using a browser (i.e., no powerpoint)

Error while following setting up local Flink Cluster

Hello I am new to flink and following the tutorials here to set up my local flink cluster on vmware environment. Everything goes fine before I tried to run the the application at step 4, which gives an error saying "Caused by: org.apache.flink.shaded.netty4.io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection refused: localhost/127.0.0.1:8081".

Anyone knows what's wrong and how to solve the problem? Thanks very much!!

Link to stable release once Flink 0.9 is out

The current training works on Flink 0.9-SNAPSHOT.
This should be changed when Flink 0.9 is released.
We need to change

  • Maven quickstart versions
  • Links to documentation
  • Link to binary download

Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration: net.alchim31.maven:scala-maven-plugin:3.1.4:testCompileue

Hi,

I have cloned this repo as instructed here in order to get familiar with Flink. However, there are the errors in the projects after building and importing into Eclipse IDE. In the Flink Training Exercises project i find errors in the pom Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration: net.alchim31.maven:scala-maven-plugin:3.1.4:testCompile. There are also errors in the project flink-quickstart-java . Some dependencies are not being resolved e.g. ExecutionEnvironment cannot be resolved in the BatchJob class. I have tried to clean the .m2 folder and complied both projects several times but there is no joy yet !
