speedy-ladders's Issues

Ladder Visuals?

Please add this feature:
some way to choose what that ladder looks like. (ie. stone, iron, gold, or diamond ladders don't always visually match the aesthetics of a player's base.

It would be nice to have the option to select what visual style it will be.

Additional Enhancements:

  1. If you want to you can only allow up to the current tier visually. (ie gold can't look like diamond, but diamond can look like gold)
  2. each tier can look like vanilla ladders (and/or other modded ladders?)

Recipes don't use ore dictionary

Recipes for all ladders don't use the oredictionary equivalent for their materials.

While this mostly changes nothing for Iron, Gold and Diamond, it prevents the Stone Ladder being crafted with stone from other mods that register their stone with the stone oredict (like The Erebus).

  • Stone -> stone
  • Iron Nugget -> nuggetIron
  • Gold Nugget -> nuggetGold
  • Diamond -> gemDiamond

recipe compatibility

you should use, ( "tag": "forge:stone" ) instead of ( "item": "minecraft:stone" )

[Suggestion] Additional ladder mechanics

Seeing how Quark's iron ladders work, figured that this mod could use similar mechanics to improve upon the ladders.

With Quark, you can use iron ladders on a placed iron ladder and it will place iron ladders downwards and keep doing so until it hits a solid block (each application adds a single ladder piece from the player's selected hotbar slot). Another feature is that ladders don't need to be attached to a block to function except for the first starting ladder piece. They also function just like vines in that if the supporting ladder piece is broken, the rest of the unsupported ladder pieces fall, which is realistic.

More or less, it's just implementing vine features and mechanics to ladders, which is actually rather handy. If you were to add some of, if not all of, these features, stone ladders should probably stay as they are.

Thanks again for this nifty little mod.

[1.18.2] Ladders seem to be reducing speed instead of increasing it

No log for this, but it seems like the ladders aren't working properly in the newest version. It seems like it slows you down instead, stone ladders halve movement, and iron and better completely prevent climbing it. Going down the ladder seems to work as intended however.

No longer works, not sure which Forge version changed it

Was working fine on Forge 1.16.5-36.0.35 but now as of 0.46 it won't work. I'm not sure if this is a Forge specific issue or another mod now interfering (using Valhelsia 3 modpack).

Ladders show and the audio sound seems to work, but it's as if the ladder is just a physical entity now, you can't use it.

Thanks
