Monero DAppNode package

A Private Digital Currency Monero is cash for a connected world. It’s fast, private, and secure. With Monero, you are your own bank. You can spend safely, knowing that others cannot see your balances or track your activity.

You can use your own monero node and connect it to monero gui wallet to execute transactions untraceble, privately, safely and much more.

monerod is the daemon software that ships with the Monero tree. It is a console program, and manages the blockchain.

Dappnode package responsible for providing the monero chain ( based on monero v0.17.1.9)

You can use this package without installing it in your DAppNode following these instructions:

Prerequisites

git

Install git commandline tool.
docker

Install docker. The community edition (docker-ce) will work. In Linux make sure you grant permissions to the current user to use docker by adding current user to docker group, sudo usermod -aG docker $USER. Once you update the users group, exit from the current terminal and open a new one to make effect.
docker-compose

Install docker-compose

Note: Make sure you can run git, docker ps, docker-compose without any issue and without sudo command.

Building

docker-compose build

Running

Start

docker-compose up -d

View logs

docker-compose logs -f

Stop

docker-compose down

Connect using monero gui

Needs to be published

@eduadiez please publish this package it's now 2 versions behind upstream and was throwing errors until I merged the latest upstream and installed from scratch.

CI goes inactive due to long delays between releases

I've noticed several updates in the last year were missed or done right in the nick of time because a user or myself found it our nodes offline due to hard forks etc. I just realized yesterday the reason why we werent getting notified was because the CI actions go inactive after a certain amount of time and need to be manually restarted, i did that last night and 4 hours later the CI opened a PR and deployed the test package, @tropicar merged the commit. Im curious is there a way to extend the time before the actions go inactive? we have several smaller not widely used packages like this that have similar issues.

Update to version 0.17.1.1

Any plans to update to version 0.17.1.1 - Oxygen Orion?

The fork on Oct 17th has rendered the older versions obsolete.

Unable to connect Monero node to GUI Wallet.

I have tried going to packages > Monero > Network and used my "Container IP" and default port (18081) to setup a remote node on the Monero GUI wallet, but it never connects. My IP address is blurred out. This also fails to connect if I try port 18080.

It also failed to connect if I use the HTTPs domain mapping.

Here are my Monero network settings:

I pass the UPnP checks with all green checkmarks, as I have UPnP enabled on my router as well as manually opening the ports for 18080, 18081, 18082.

And my Monero node is fully synced.

I am stumped as for what to do next. I would love to have a solution for this to actually connect to my own node. Thanks.
