Part of the motivation for using a self-hosted action runner is so that I can cache the executed form of notebooks that haven't changed since the previous commit. This doesn't seem to be happening -- changing the Nikola theme causes all of the notebooks to get re-executed. The build logs show that the default github checkout action is running git clean -ffdx, which clears out all the executed notebooks (among other things). Fixing this will mean replacing that checkout action with the right git commands.
