budgie-network-applet's Issues

Won't ask for WIFI password on ARCH

Hi,

Since I use budgie and this applet, I have an issue with the applet not asking for password when connecting to an unknow wireless network.
I must open the network configuration and enter the password by hand in the network page.
The only I can make it work is by installing the network-manager-applet alongside the budgie one, wich left me with two network tray icon.
What can I do to make the budgie-network-applet to ask for password or disable the display of network-manager-applet?

Thanks!

Weird color when i click to connect to a wifi

Hey, thanks for the great applet!

I noticed that i have a little color issue when i click to connect to a wifi, if i select the wifi by myself the color turns to white

On a dark theme everything seems good

OS: Ubuntu budgie 18.04
Theme: McMojave

I tried on different white themes & the issue is the same.

Thanks for your help x)

Adding icons to header widgets

I was thinking that it might look nice if icons were added before each connection type name (as in, before Wired, WiFi, etc) on the switches, similar to DataDrake's mockup (I'd include a link to that, but I'm not sure where it is). See https://i.imgur.com/MiBu57L.png for my own terrible picture explanation.

I started a branch for this, but so far it hasn't worked like I expected. I'm more than willing to continue work on it if desired.

Keeps opening google.com

After enabling the applet Firefox opens going to google.com (not my homepage). Disabling it again fixes the issue. It sometimes happens in the background, but also happens when switching networks.

upstreaming the applet

Good work with this effort!

I know Ikey started producing a network applet but did not finish :(

Is it your intention to upstream this to the solus-project ... basically to do what Ikey did not finish?

Looks like the Licenses for this project and budgie-desktop are compatible so that should be ok.

Update Solus dependencies

Please update the dependencies on README

sudo eopkg install -c system.devel

sudo eopkg it budgie-desktop-devel libgtk-3-devel ninja gobject-introspection meson vala network-manager-applet-devel libgee-devel gcc
