eamt_gitbook_public's Issues

General clarification and improvement

Suggestions from Jonas Kristoffer Lindeløv

If the gitbook is a structured list pointing to external content for the expert reader, it does well :sports_medal: And you can just ignore the rest of my observations here :-)

Some places it shows signs of being more book-like, actually guiding the beginner/intermediate-level reader through the topics in a pedagogical way.

I'm definitely a beginner (), so if the latter is the ambition, here are ways in which it would be more approachable to me:

1, Sometimes, there's just a link to a file or an external post. A 3-4 line summary directly in the book would make it easier to digest, get the major (unnuanced) learnings, and evaluate whether one wants to dive in and explore deeper.

  1. There are several sections with just one line or placeholder. Perhaps it's better to not include these for now, since it's unclear how much of the book the reader should ignore because it's just for the authors. (also given #1 and #2 above)

  2. There are lots of jumps between quotes, single lines, formatting changes, etc. which leaves it to the reader to make the coherence. If there's truly just one bullet under a heading, maybe the content could be re-arranged with a more general heading having more semantically-related stuff under it.

The first three-four pages following/including this one shows all of the above: https://effective-giving-marketing.gitbook.io/untitled/profiling-and-segmentation/section-introduction
