I think current not.
I will have a look at it and update the whole project to the newest Angular defaults using strict mode and settings in the lib as well as in the example project.
After this, the API should be more stable and strict mode shouldn't make problems any longer.

Defining the event emitter as optional was a bad idea of mine when I updated the project. As when no event binding is used, the emitted events will be ignored anyway.
The fix will come within the next days.
