sure, the only problem, I usually use CDNs to avoid having a bunch of files on the repo..
maybe a KEY BOOTSTRAP URL which initially points to a CDN and if the user want's a different thing points that to a local instalation..

I wasn't talking about an optional template, but a stash variable, so you have {% bootstrap_cdn %} which you can configure to a local path

I think it is better to have different templates than {% bootstrap_cdn %} then other maybe don't use bootstrap so it is useless to have C++ code with that ....

Hmm a much better alternative then is check if {% c.config.bootstrap_url %} is defined and if so use that config value.
This won't touch C++ and will be theme specific
