git lost comment.py?

It's completely gone suddenly. It's not even deleted, git completely lost track of it. It's not even in the commit I initially added it in anymore. I could see the changes being uploaded before today so I know it was there before, but now it's nowhere to be found. For the record, master is the only branch on this repo, and has always been.

I don't know what to do here :/. I could re-add it now but then all the old commits would break because it's missing from them. I can't rebase either, because I only have the most recent version of the file which is incompatible with previous commits. Unless I rebase every commit one by one and rewrite comment.py for all of them, which would be insanely tedious, it looks like it's the end for this repo.
