global-network-strategy's Issues

Draft a budget for the process

We need to draft a budget / responsible of support for each of the things that we'll need (platforms for webinars?, videos?, subtitles?).

Add interpretation rule to Charter and all other network formal documents

Add to the bottom of the Charter the following text, as well as include at bottom of Chapter guidelines and similar:

Unofficial translations of this Charter and other network-related governance documents may be provided in other languages. In the event of conflict between any unofficial translation and the original English language version, the English language version shall control.

Annex: Definitions

We need to define some key terms used in the document (community, Network, affiliates, members, etc.)

  • Collate a list of these terms

Funding

HQ funding and the pending discussion of how we think it could be sustainable (including possible fees and fundraising by the Network and its members)

Yet to be drafted. Proposal is for this to be done by @ryanmerkley and @paul2keller

  • Draft initial text

  • Share text with Strategy Committee for review

Participants & contributors

I noticed that "participants" and "contributors" are widely used as general terms indicating people who are engaging in the Network but are not necessarily members throughout the whole documentation. But in this particular one, "Chapter Guidelines," they are defined differently and that might potentially cause confusion among people who are familiar with the new structure (especially those from regions where English is not first language).
Maybe we could use the term "contributors" only to refer to non-Members in the other documents to keep consistency for now, @Claudioruiz ?

Vision and Mission

Tasks:

  • Tweak wording of mission statement

  • Get consensus on final mission and vision drafts

[Bug] Globally "Dispute Resolution Committee" should be "Membership Committee"

Description

I think what may have been called the CCGN Dispute Resolution Committee later transformed into the Membership Committee and not all references in documentation were changed.

Reproduction

See for example: https://github.com/creativecommons/global-network-strategy/blob/main/docs/chapters-standards.md

Expectation

Either only one name should be used consistently, or if there really are two different bodies, they both need to be documented.

Resolution
