Quick Notes:
containerd already appends --log to runc paremeters, although the default name is always runtime.log but that can be easily changed.
For the debug mode, it would require for containerd-shim to accept extra runc parameters after the runtime name.

ya, we need to rethink how to handle errors from runc->shim->containerd->to docker.
If someone wants to help dedicate time to thinking about an end to end solution for this it would help while i'm still working on making runc feature complete for containerd/docker

This has been resolved in the 1.0 and how we handle parsing errors from runc.
