If you don't know me, I ...

  • ๐ŸŒ describe myself as Earthling ๐Ÿ˜„
  • ๐Ÿ™Š Started out as web developer/Joomla developer. Moved into app development with React-Native & now enjoy the crypto space

ctransifex's Issues

limit languages to download

Actually all languages will be downloaded (unless using a partial lang map on main definitions).
Is it possible to have a full main lang map but include a setting to limit the languages to be downloaded (by project)?

This would allow using Ctransifex by a local Joomla community in order to set up a translation download site for their language only.
A local community may just want to use CTransifex for their own languages, getting their language from different projects. Then presenting them linked to a common page as it is now for different projects, just with a limited language set!

Why?

  • Some times Transifex projects are not created by the extension developer, but one language team maintain the project and open it to all others to translate/Publish packs on their own.
  • Some times project creators don't use Ctransifex and we need to use the TX client, create local packs to publish on our community site... or wait until they publish packs for next version! ( :silly: )
  • Also there are Joomla core language projects that are not maintained by joomla.org and it would be better to just publish my language (see JcoreLang - sites.google.com/site/transjoomla/joomla-projects/jcorelang )

So it will require a setting to download all languages or just code xx-XX

Joomla doesn't like install.xml if extension type="file"

Joomla takes file extension element from the filename.

In order to make package removal and automatic updates to work, manifest name needs to be unique. Basically next file extension that has the same manifest name will overwrite the previous, which will cause a few odd ill-effects in Joomla installation.

I recommend to name manifest like this (follows Joomla core naming):

com_component_xx-XX.xml

Additionally I would change version number to YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM format, which is easier to understand (version compare still works with it).

Doesnt seem to check config before initial fetch

Was just fetching files from a project having mixed ressources, where some have 15- prefix and other have 25- prefix in resource names.

And the project config in Ctransifex only have info about the 25- prefixed ressources.

But it seems that CTransifex fetch all available ressources from Transifex, and not only those set in project config file.
This slows down the fetch process as it seems to travel through all resource files for the build. Would think it should only fetch those mentioned in the config field.

Missing language values

If I publish/unpublish a project, I get simple language strings:
COM_CTRANSIFEX_N_ITEMS_UNPUBLISHED
COM_CTRANSIFEX_N_ITEMS_PUBLISHED
