Codedamn's mission is to make coding highly engaging and interactive - wherever possible. In the Submission projects directory, create a new file as follows: submission_your_github_username.html inside your chosen topic folder and send the PR using the following template:

👉 Name of the file: your_github_username.html
👉 Inside the file, paste your codedamn's submission URL. The format is: https://codedamn.com/project/solution/:id
👉 Write your codedamn username and name in the same file
👉 Send a Pull Request to main branch

Now just wait for PR to get merged :D That's it, folks!

FAQ

How much time will it take for our PR to get accepted?

We have a small team of maintainers looking at every submission's source code and determine if they should be merged or not. The order of PRs reviewed is not fixed, however you can be assured that your pull request would be reviewed soon. Due to excessive load, it might take a few days, therefore please be patient. We intend to make the Pull Request count 0 before we announce final results.

The repository is not included in DigitalOcean Hacktoberfest?

DigitalOcean has excluded this repository from their Hacktoberfest submission. We have no control over DigitalOcean ToS. Although you all are building a full project and doing a lot of effort, all DigitalOcean sees is a PR with your submission link. However this does not change the fact that if any one of your PR is merged, we would send swags from our side to you. Hacktoberfest rules from DigitalOcean does not impact our ability to send you swags.

Can I code on my local machine?

I am finding it very difficult to code on the codedamn editor. Is there any way to take the entire code template, code it on my local machine and then paste the code back into the codedamn editor?

PR's review

The PR's isn't reviewing, While the latest PR's is being reviewed and neglecting the older one's

Submitted a valid PR before the deadline, but got closed.

I made a valid PR, but it was closed due to "blank project" as said by the maintaner. But the actual thing was, the project was complete but the screenshot was blank because of high loading time. You can check the submitted project now. Kindly accept the PR 🙂.

Why my correct PR was closed?

I did the multiverse gallery project, resubmitted it because of some typo, but now it got closed.

Small doubt

this is really a great initiative from @mehulmpt. I just had a small doubt if my PR gets merged will that also be counted for Hactoberfest?

Bugs/feedbacks for codedamn playgrounds

Hey everyone
I hope you're having a great time participating in codedamn's hacktoberfest build-a-project event! We're working hard on improving the playground (the area where you build projects on codedamn.com). We want to make it robust, lightweight and super simple to use.

Please use this issue to discuss any minor problems you faced on playgrounds, or if you have tips/suggestions around improving the developer experience (DX) over there.

Just a not so Important Question related to the Contest

As One of my PR got Merged 😁 then I got a comment on that PR by one of the person from the CODEDAMN team that My PR has been Merged and the team will contact me after the contest 😍

So I was just having an eye on the other devs projects which have been merged

So on some of them it was written like the team will contact them after the contest gets over and also after checking their code

But that ( after checking your Code ) wasn't written on mine PR response

So is it like the Code check has to be done after the contest or the Code check was to be done before the PR was to be merged??

Just feeling nervous after seeing this as the Hacktoberfest just excluded my many of the repo ( on which I had contributed ) and now I think that I won't be able to get this years SWAG from the Hacktoberfest and I was assuming the SWAG from the CODEDAMN team will be my assured SWAG ( as @mehulmpt said ) here If I got the meaning right

some time my code not updated properly.

i faced this issue many times. i checked API response. when i click on UPDATE PROJECT button. API called but after some time API failed. yesterday morning i updated my code. when i open some code in night . my morning change is missing. Same issue faced many times. some time image Drag upload not working. I dont know . what is the problem.
