For now, just throw all the wordpress images into some sort of assets folder

Implement Haml

Hey I don't know how everyone else is feeling, but I would prefer using haml over HTML.

Add about page

This should be approved by all organizers.

  • What is our mission?
  • Who we are? > explain the name and why the name change briefly
  • Who is our audience?
  • mention current organisers
  • mention how people can help us (funding/ contribution/ coaching/ organizing)
  • link to our events page / mention the latest/ upcoming event

i18n

Introduce German and English language segmentation.

/de/impressum for german page, and /about for english.

Create Code of Conduct Page

While every single event will have the Code of Conduct included in the bottom. A stand alone page should exist with the full text of the Code of Conduct, and contact info of CoC Committee members. https://berlincodeofconduct.org/ and it should ALSO be shown in the header navigations

  • the url is /code-of-conduct
  • code-of-conduct.markdown file is created with appropriate text
  • it shows up in the header (next to About, Events)

Remove code of conduct from bottom of blog post by changing html layouts

We added the code of conduct part to appear under every event page, but it definitely does not need to be under blog posts.

This needs to be changed in the layouts. So _layouts/single_post.html is what is adding the code of conduct to the bottom of event and blog post pages. We need two different layout html files for blog post and event pages.

Turn sign up link in footer into button

Related to this issue:
#55

I was implementing the sign up link in the footer, but all kinds of versions of a button didn't work. We need better styling in general, but a very visible sign up button for our newsletter is crucial.

Does someone else know how to build a button in jekyll (minima)?
