The Tannin Addict

In this project I am creating a wine blog. If you like wines and intrested in an expertise's thoughts about tasting it, making it, the science behind it, or you just simply like traveling and visiting wineries, then this website is for you. Even if wine is not your cup of tea you will still find plenty of interesting information about places as potential holiday destinations. Have a peek at the gallery to dismiss your doubts.

UX:

This website is for my wife. She has come to a decision to go pro as a blogger. For that reason she needs a website where she can express her thoughts about anything related to wines.

The ultimate goal is to provide visitors visually catching website with lots of interesting articles provided with plenty of photos and videos.

Features:

Home

• Just a teaser to get you there. A warm welcome photo, a "Questions about wines" button for getting in touch, a quote, a few article intros.
• Navigation at the top allows you to navigate through the main part of the website.
• The Wine Up! button in the navigation and on the home page takes you to a sign up page where you can fill in your details and submit it to recieve newsletters.

About

• About page contains general information about the owner of the site.

Articles

• Articles contains the short version of the articles. By clicking on read more... below them, it takes you to the actual article.

Gallery

• Gallery provides photos and videos to enhance visual connection to articles.

Ask!

• Contact form to get in touch.

Features left to implement

• A lot - There is always place for improvement.
• Adding sing up option for monthly newsletter.
• Creating a database of the articles based on winerys, wines, vintage, description, region, country.
• Search button to be able to find wines by winerys, vintage, description, region, country.

Technologies used:

• HTML5 (semantic elements)
• CSS3
• HTML-validator - For checking basic structure link
• CSS-validator -For checking styling issues link
• Bootstrap4 CDN - and it's built in jQuery, Javascript link
• AWS Cloud9 - to start the project
• Visual Studio Code - to finish the project

Testing:

• Manually tested responsiveness and layout on different browsers and screen sizes (mobile, ipad, ipad pro, laptop screen, desktop xl screen)

Functionality:

1. Contact form: i. Go to contact form by clicking on the "Ask!" button in navigation or the "Questions About Wines?" button in jumbotron. ii. Can not submit questions without valid email address

2. Articles: i. Click "read more..." buttons below articles, they will forward the reader to the full articles
