Having used 10.13.6 for the last few days, I haven't experienced any issues. The issue seems fixed I will report back if anything changes.

I'll have to look into this. Could definitely be an Electron-related issue.
Do you know what other programs are running when this happens? Does it seem totally random or can you recreate/reproduce the bug?

The normal programs I had running before only. It seemed to be every time I leave android messages open and then closed the mac for a period of time.
I have just updated macOS to 10.13.6 so I will conduct further tests.
