geforce-kepler-patcher's Issues

How to Update macOS - Or Safely Delete This Installation

Hi chris1111 -
First, thx for your helpful projects & tips.

I have a hackintosh with a GeForce GT710 2MB dGPU. It was running Big Sur fine, but when Monterey 12.0.1 was released and dropped support for Kepler, I found your patcher.

I followed your directions closely & the install worked. I've had no issues since then and have been running 12.0.1 fine, other than my machine won't boot at all if I change "SecureBootModel" to anything besides "Disabled" in my OpenCore 0.7.5 config.plist.

My question is: With the OpenCore settings your patcher requires, how can I update now to 12.1, or future updates?

If I can't update the OS, please tell me how I can safely UNINSTALL all the kexts & elements that your Geforce-Kepler-patcher installed.

UPDATE: I went the gibMacOS route to install 12.1. It was successful, although it deleted all the extensions your patcher installed. Meaning when I booted up in 12.1, I didn't have QE/QI. So I re-applied your patcher to my new 12.1 install and it worked. In short, a bit of a hassle, but fortunately the patch is still valid.

You MIGHT want to consider addressing the upgrade to 12.1 for users of this patch.

macOS Ventura

Is there a chance to successfully install the N card under macOS Ventura?

Macos 12.5 black screen

Black screen with macos 12.5
Tried updating and reinstalling patch.
Also did a new install of 12.5 then patch same result

How do i validate my installation?

Hi @chris1111 ,
i have a proxmox setup with a GeForce GT 710B that worked fine with Big Sur.
Now installed on the same machine Monterey and of course the GPU doesn't work out-of-the-box.
So i found your repository (thanks!) and i try to install it.
All the installation process went well but my card is still not recognized.
Is there any steps that i could do in order to validate the installation of your patch?
Thanks

k3100m (not an issue)

This is not an issue but i couldn't find where to start this discussion

So, i've nvidia k3100m which is a kepler...i was wondering if this patch works with this dgpu?

Cannot apply patch due to error 77

After entering pass code during kepler patch error shows. I research all but could not find any solution

Patch unsuccessful

I am using macOS 12.1 and quadro K4000. I disabled sip and gatekeeper and used your patcher. Nothing was wrong at installation and it succeeded. But after reboot, the system cannot be loaded. The log kept on rolling. I had shot a video of what was showing. Can you help me to figure out what was wrong please?

Patch bricks system after applying (Monterey Release 12.0.1)

After installing the day-one release of Monterey and applying the patch, OpenCore tries to hand-off to the Kernel but instantly reboots after that.

I tried reinstalling Monterey, I got back in, reapplied the patch making sure it was Monterey-DISK, to the same issue again

Boot stuck and cannot continue the boot

Any fix will be appricated i need for development please help me.

No Signal

Apply GT710 2GB. After Patch using nv_disable=1, detected : Nvidia Chip Model 7MB. When erase nv_disable=1, no signal. So, only work with nv_disable =1. What is the solution?

Browsers crashing

Dell optiplex 780
C2q with gt730 and OC 8.1 legacy smbios imac 17,1 with Monterey.
Ive disabled sip (still disabled or no boot)and installed the patch and everythings working accept all browsers crash except safari . Ive tried opera and firefox as well and they crash too.
Safari cant get location for hulu(never has been able too)so i use chrome to watch hulu b4 i updated from big sur to monterey.
at first i thought is was sip related but used same efi to boot catalina and chrome works fine.

Is chrome closing cause sip is diabled in monty?
How can i fix this?
Do you know of a browser that streams hulu that dont crash with the patch?

Patching with only the GT710

Hello, I'm introducing a friend to hackintosh but the problem is that he has an 11th gen I7 processor, so he can't use the integrated graphics. On his old pc, he had a GT710, so today we are doing an OpenCore install with only the GT710 as the graphics card (Big Sur). I found out just now about this patcher but I'm asking myself how can he apply this patch on Monterey, if updating to Monterey would disable his graphics?

Breaks OpenCore

Maybe it is a fault at my side, but when I use your patcher as mentioned and reboot my system I get error messeges about bad encryptionkeys and cant mount apfs.

I really dont know why, but when your patcher set up the new snapshot partition it breaks my whole system...

I cant even get the error reports...

Geforce GT710 2GB not working

hello i have installed the current monterey oc 0.8.

The Geforce GT710 2GB is not recognized.

SIP everything out as in the instructions.

Kepler Patcher v2 puts me in recovery mode.

Kepler Patcher v3 won't run, Unable to pass Error Patcher Script to Finder.

OC Legancy Patcher also gets me into recovery mode.

As written, everything is switched off, including the gatekeeper.

Any idea?

Any chance with Maxwell Gtx 850M

Thank you for the patch. Is there any chance for this script to work on 850M Gtx 4 Gb Ddr 3 Model? I want to use cuda and opencv and with igpu hd4600 i cant use them (currently monterrey on my n550jk asus recognizes this as the main gpu with modification).

Is this needed in the final Monterey version released by Apple? I ask as I see conflicting information floating around. The Opencore docs say all Kepler support has been dropped but various other sources say they have successful installed on GT 740.

Geforce-Kepler-Patcher for Monterey 12.5 broken?

Hi,

i've setup all Monterey versions (12.0, 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4) and Geforce-Kepler patcher works fine.

But after fresh installing Monterey 12.5 Geforce-Kepler patch doesn't work. After installing Geforce-Kepler patch i get login screen and when I enter my password screen freezes.

I tried to update opencore boot loader and all kext files but no success.

Is there any working Geforce-Kepler patch for Monterey 12.5?
